Per court records obtained by the New York Post, the situation originates from footage that was reportedly posted in December by Aiyuk on his YouTube page.
Driving a Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, the 49ers wide receiver allegedly eclipsed speeds of 100 mph on roadways in Santa Clara. Also, during his drive, Aiyuk was allegedly spotted on video going 104 mph while driving by Levi’s Stadium, the home of the 49ers.
After receiving criticism, Aiyuk took to social media to apologize for his alleged actions, making a promise that his “car content won’t come with speeding anymore,” per the New York Post.

Regardless of his apology, an investigation was launched by the Santa Clara Police Department into the footage, and then the case was forwarded Jan. 15 to the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office.
In the 2020 NFL Draft, Aiyuk was selected in the first round by San Francisco, and in his first four seasons with the franchise, he had a successful run.
Following the 49ers giving him a contract extension of four years and $120 million in August 2024, however, things have gone downhill.
Aiyuk’s knee was injured only seven contests into the 2024 campaign, and since then, he hasn’t played a game in the NFL.
