GOP Congressman Moves To Impeach Judge Reprimanded For Courthouse Sex Escapades

Republican Rep. Andrew Clyde of Georgia announced Thursday on X that he is seeking to impeach the federal judge who was allegedly caught having sex in courthouse chambers with an Atlanta police deputy chief.

Clyde wrote that he is in the process of drafting articles of impeachment for the Obama-appointee, Judge Eleanor Ross of the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta, Georgia, because of allegations she engaged in sexual activity during business hours as part of an extramarital affair with a deputy chief. She was professionally reprimanded for the reported incident. The sexual incidents on the job site allegedly took place regularly across a two-year-span. The 11th Circuit internally investigated the matter.

Their intimate moments during the daytime hours were described as both noisy and happening within earshot of clerks at work, a previous Bloomberg Law report noted.

Ross previously garnered media buzz after she decided on two long sentences for celebrity couple Todd and Julie Chrisley for fraud and tax evasion violations. President Donald Trump later pardoned the couple.

Ross was appointed by President Barack Obama in 2014 and is a graduate of American University and the University of Houston Law Center, according to the Federal Judicial Center. She is married to State Court Judge Brian Ross of DeKalb County, the State Court of DeKalb County website reads.
