NFL Star Jonathon Cooper Reportedly Arrested For Domestic Violence, Criminal Mischief

Police in Parker, Colorado, reportedly arrested Denver Broncos outside linebacker Jonathon Cooper Thursday on domestic violence charges.

Douglas County Jail records indicated Cooper was booked at 2:38 a.m. Friday on two counts of domestic violence and one count of criminal mischief, according to CBS Sports. The record said Cooper and an adult female were involved in a fight, and the woman accused the athlete of cheating. Police said the woman threw Cooper’s phone and alleged that he responded by biting her phone. Police said both phones were damaged in the alleged altercation, and both parties were arrested and taken into police custody, according to CBS Sports.

The outlet reported that Cooper was arrested at 11:16 p.m. June 4 and appeared in court the following morning. He reportedly has another court date in the docket for June 8.

CBS reported that he was still in custody Friday morning, but no other details surrounding the circumstances that led up to the alleged incident were disclosed.

Cooper, 28, was a seventh-round draft pick out of Ohio State in 2021 and finished last season with eight sacks — second-most on the team.
