The famous rapper claimed he shelled out $600,000 to secure a pardon from President Donald Trump that never materialized, according to TMZ.
The outlet cited a NOTUS report that said the rapper struck a deal with Wohl and Burkman in the fall of 2025 after they claimed they had major pull with the president and acted like they had POTUS “on speed dial.”

Boosie Badazz’s legal filing focuses on his demand for a refund. The rapper is attempting to recover $300,000 under a clause in the contract that required half the fee to be refunded if a pardon wasn’t delivered, TMZ reported.
According to the filing, the rapper’s lawyer received a call on New Year’s Day claiming that Trump had signed the pardon but the White House had not yet revealed the news. The court documents go on to claim the no pardon was ever signed and that Wohl and Burkman refused to refund the money.
The two allegedly claimed that the refund agreement did not exist, then argued that their law firm was broke after being hit with millions of dollars worth of fines tied to other litigation, according to TMZ.
“Boosie has no reason to be unhappy. In 30 years of lobbying, I doubt we have ever done more work and harder work,” Burkman told TMZ. “The provision in the contract he is referencing was never agreed to at all. The other factor is that Boosie’s quest for a pardon was made much tougher by an arrest for an alleged crime of violence in Texas earlier this year.”
“We tried very, very hard,” Burkman added. (RELATED: Police Arrest Rapper Lil Reese On Rape Charges: REPORT)

The report also alleged that a White House official denied that Wohl and Burkman had any affiliation with the pardon process, that the team had “never heard from” them, and that their involvement would have actually lessened the chances of a successful pardon from Trump.
Boosie Badazz was serving time for possessing a firearm after being criminally convicted following a May 2023 arrest in San Diego.
