You Won’t Believe Simple Questions Anthony Fauci Refuses To Answer

Dr. Anthony Fauci refused to answer simple questions — even on trivial matters — during a Senate hearing Wednesday.

Republican Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, the chair of the committee conducting the hearing, asked Fauci if he had a red folder on the table in front of him that contained a specific section of the U.S. Code. Fauci pleaded the Fifth Amendment and did not answer the question.

“Let the record report that the witness has refused to answer whether there’s a folder in front of him based on his Fifth Amendment right,” Paul said in response.

Fauci pleaded the Fifth Amendment, “on the advice of counsel,” as he did for every other question asked of him during the hearing. (RELATED: Anthony Fauci Pleads The Fifth During Highly Anticipated Hearing)

The folder Paul questioned Fauci about contained a section of the U.S. Code which “makes it a crime for a witness appearing under subpoena to refuse to answer any questions pertinent to the question under inquiry.”

The former public health official claimed in his opening statement that he would refuse to answer questions because the he believed that “the sole reason” Paul called him before the committee was to get Fauci to say something that could put him behind bars.

“Although it pains me to do so, because of the respect I have for the Legislative branch of government and my decades-long record of cooperating with Congress, under the advice of my attorneys, I will invoke my right under the Fifth Amendment of the Constitution to refrain from answering your questions,” Fauci said in his opening statement.

Fauci pleaded the fifth when Ohio U.S. Sen. Bernie Moreno asked Fauci what the Fifth Amendment of the Constitution says.

The amendment claims, among other things, that one shall not “be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself.”

Republican Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley asked Fauci “What day of the week is it today?” and “What color tie are you wearing?”

“On the advice of counsel, I respectfully decline to answer based upon my rights under the Fifth Amendment to the Constitution,” Fauci replied to both questions.

Fauci pleaded the fifth a total of 111 times during the hearing, Paul noted in an X post.
