IT Outage Leaves American Airlines Flights Grounded Nationwide, FAA Says
American Airlines flights were grounded nationwide Tuesday night after an IT outage interrupted service.

The news of all planes not already in the air being grounded came from an advisory made public by the Federal Aviation Administration’s Air Traffic Control System Command Center. American Airlines attributed the grounding to a “technology issue” that “briefly impacted connectivity” for some systems, the airline said in a statement, according to ABC News.

“Systems are coming back online now and flights are departing again,” the airline said. “We put a temporary ground stop in place while our teams worked to resolve the issue. We apologize to our customers for the inconvenience.”

American Airlines operates thousands of flights per day to over 350 different destinations, according to its official website.
The Daily Caller has reached out to American Airlines for comment but had not heard back by time of publication.
