Multiple Women Accuse Jared Leto Of Sexual Misconduct When They Were Teens
Four women accused Oscar-winning actor and Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman Jared Leto of sexual misconduct.
The women alleged that the offences took place when they were just teenagers, according to a BBC report published Wednesday, in conjunction with the BBC documentary, “Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret.”
One of the alleged victims claimed she was sexually assaulted in a motel bathroom when she was 17. Another woman alleged she was 17 when Leto, who was 34 at the time, had sex with her at his California home.
“He told me, ‘I would like you to call me daddy,” she told BBC. The age of consent in California is 18, meaning the alleged encounter would constitute statutory rape and the possibility of jail time.
One of the four women alleged Leto sexually assaulted her in a motel bathroom in 2002, when she was 17. She claimed Leto caught her off-guard and used her hand to masturbate himself.
Another alleged victim claimed Leto threatened her with sexual assault, according to BBC.
The fourth woman to come forward alleged she was groomed by the actor and said she received sexually explicit phone calls when she was 16 years old. She provided the BBC with a copy of a nondisclosure agreement she claimed was presented to her by Leto’s lawyer, though she said she refused to sign it.
The BBC reported that a total of 10 women spoke to them as part of the documentary – nine of which were voicing their allegations for the first time.

All the alleged encounters took place between 2002 and 2016.
“This was 25 years ago… he has gotten away with it,” one of the alleged victims told BBC.

BBC went on to say two male staffers came forward to say they were uncomfortable with the actor’s interactions with teenage girls who they claim were invited backstage to his dressing room or to his home.
“I think everyone thought the age gap was way too big,” one of the staffers told BBC.
Leto is an Academy-award winning actor best known for is work in “Dallas Buyers Club,” “Fight Club,” “Blade Runner 2049,” “Suicide Squad,” and “Masters of the Universe.”
He’s part of the award-winning rock band, Thirty Seconds to Mars, formed in 1998. He continues to tour with the band.

Leto has not issued public comment about the allegations made against him.
