Stefon Diggs To Sign With Washington Commanders In Blockbuster Move: REPORT

Stefon Diggs, a free-agent wide receiver, will be signing a one-year, $12 million contract with the Washington Commanders, giving the franchise a superstar receiver to put opposite Terry McLaurin, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and ESPN’s Adam Schefter, who cited sources.

Born in suburban Washington and playing college football at the University of Maryland, Diggs was open about his desire to join the Commanders. The 32-year-old will now be playing for a new franchise for the third time in three years.

Diggs is a four-time Pro Bowler and a member of the 2020 All-Pro first team. That season, he led the National Football League in receptions with 127.

From the Washington Commanders’ perspective, I absolutely love this move.

Not only do you get a homecoming with Stefon Diggs, which will have him extremely motivated to perform well, but speaking of that, you have a guy on your team who can easily have a 1,000-yard season. He did it last season with the New England Patriots, and he’s done it in six other seasons, with three other years nearly hitting the mark.

What’s not to love if you’re the Commanders? … It’s a perfect formula to match the two.
