Ossoff Fuels Rumors About Trump And His Young Aide, President Fires Back
Democratic Georgia Sen. Jon Ossoff accused President Donald Trump of caring more about jetting around with a favored assistant than running the country.

Ossoff, who is fighting to hold his Senate seat, aimed the attack at Natalie Harp during a Sunday rally. He tied the remark to his criticism of Trump’s handling of Navy deployments, telling supporters the president golfs, trades stocks and dozes through meetings instead of governing.
“He doesn’t want to do the job,” Ossoff said. “He wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie on their apparently defenseless flying palace gifted by the emir of Qatar.”
Pressed by MS Now’s Jen Psaki on Monday night about why he singled out the aide, Ossoff kept his distance from any romantic reading. “Well, I’ve heard this particular aide referred to as his security blanket,” he said. Harp works as an executive assistant to the president and has climbed into his tight circle of confidants, Newsweek reported. When Trump quietly switched aircraft in Turkey in July over an alleged security threat, Harp was one of only three staffers who stayed with him, according to Mediaite. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent did not make the swap.

Trump swatted the accusation away on Monday and went after the senator’s looks. “You mean Pee-wee Herman? Pee-wee Herman look-alike,” the president told reporters in the Oval Office, according to Newsweek. He denied ducking his duties and pivoted to the construction underway at the White House. “No, I’d much rather do other things. We’re building a great facility here. We’re fixing a White House that hasn’t been taken care of,” Trump said, according to Newsweek.
Communications director Steven Cheung went after Ossoff on X. Press secretary Karoline Leavitt had earlier defended the aide, calling Harp “one of the most loyal and hardest working aides on President Trump’s team,” according to Newsweek.
Harp joined Trump’s staff in 2022 after surviving stage II bone cancer and crediting her survival to the president. “He gave up his quality of life so we could live and work and fight with dignity – because he believes in survival of the fighters, not the fittest,” she said.
Forbes reported the innuendo about Harp and Trump remains unverified and rests only on the optics of a much younger aide often seen at the president’s side. The dig still ran through progressive channels online. The account now called Headquarters, previously the Harris campaign’s rapid-response operation known as KamalaHQ, amplified the exchange to its million-plus followers.
