After nearly 30 years of rumors surrounding Sean “Diddy” Combs’ alleged involvement in Tupac Shakur’s murder, his name has officially surfaced in court.

Combs’ name was brought up by multiple people during day four of testimony in the Shakur murder trial. The court heard unsealed recordings from Duane “Keffe D” Davis’ proffer interviews with law enforcement, in which he claimed Combs offered $1 million for the murder of Suge Knight and Shakur, as well as testimony from a former security agent for Combs’ Bad Boy Records and former LAPD detective Daryn Dupree.

They all claimed Combs orchestrated the murder and promised to pay big bucks to get it done.

Courtroom footage was shared online by Court TV.

Davis is charged with Shakur’s murder and plotting the hit. He addressed the court by describing the night Shakur was shot and alleged that the orders came from Combs himself.

The court heard recordings of Davis’s 2008 proffer interviews with law enforcement, in which he made the allegations against Combs. He went on to recall driving the streets of Las Vegas, looping for Suge and Shakur after a fight broke out at the MGM Grand. Davis repeatedly admitted he would have shot Shakur himself if the car had pulled up on his side, according to Court TV courtroom footage.

Former detective Dupree testified Wednesday that he interviewed Davis over the 1997 murder of Notorious B.I.G., but said Davis redirected their conversation by offering details about Shakur’s fatal shooting and made allegations about Combs’ involvement.

Dupree testified that Davis told him Combs owed him money and was supposed to pass the funds to an associate named Zip, who would in turn issue the funds “for the payment of the Tupac murder,” according to TMZ. Dupree told the court the money never made it into Davis’ hands.

Dupree testified Davis said he could “rekindle that relationship with Mr. Zip Martin and [talk] about the money that was given from Sean Puffy Combs to Mr. Martin that never got to Mr. Davis,” according to TMZ.

Dupree doubled down by claiming that Davis told him Combs solicited Shakur’s murder during a conversation at Greenblatt’s Deli in Los Angeles.

Reggie Wright Jr., the former head of security of Combs’ Death Row Records, and Eugene Deal, Diddy’s former bodyguard, have also testified that Combs offered $1 million for Shakur’s murder, according to 8 News Now. Combs has not been officially charged or called in to testify in the case. He has repeatedly denied any connection to Shakur’s murder. Combs is currently serving a 50-month prison sentence on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
