Department Of Education Draws Backlash After Apparently Comparing Trump To Hitler

The Department of Education is receiving criticism for an apparent comparison of President Donald Trump and Nazi leader Adolf Hitler.

The department posted a now-deleted video to X featuring a clip from Darkest Hour, a biographical film about Sir Winston Churchill’s first weeks as U.K. prime minister during World War II.

The clip features actor Gary Oldman quoting Churchill, saying, “You cannot reason with a tiger, when your head is in its mouth!” The video then transitioned to pictures of Trump set to rapper BIA’s song, “WE ON GO.”

The post’s caption added, “No one does it like us.”

Ron Filipkowski, editor-in-chief of liberal media outlet MeidasTouch, posted a screenshot Wednesday night of the department’s post and the community note to X.

“The US Dept of Education, everyone,” Filipkowski wrote.

The Trump administration has received criticism for videos its departments have posted to social media. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has posted several quotes in the past that sparked some backlash among the left, including “We’ll have our home again” and “One Homeland. One People. One Heritage.”

The DHS most recently drew backlash for posting an image of the president, captioned, “Did you remain loyal?” in response to an X user’s post claiming the administration had made “generational wins.” The post included the administration’s plans to revoke the visas of 200,000 asylum seekers in 2026 and Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s recent arrest of 1,328 illegal immigrants in two weeks in Virginia and Maryland.
