Fellow Juror Reveals Holdout Lindsay Clancy Trial Juror A Black Man
A juror for the Lindsay Clancy murder trial told CBS Mornings host Gayle King Friday that the holdout juror was a Black man.

King, a black woman, asked the juror, Paula Devlin, about the age range and “racial makeup” of the 12 jurors, who included nine women and three men, with the one holdout juror being a man. (RELATED: INGERSOLL: Three Angry, Old Women Failed To Convince The Lone Juror)
Devlin said the age range was 70-ish to 22, noted that there was only one person of color in the group, and added that many of the jurors had children.
King then asked whether the holdout juror was a black man, and Devlin confirmed.
“Well, I have to sit with that for just a second,” King said, pausing between questions as she seemed physically taken aback.
The conversation continued, with the host and guest discussing the evidence that convinced Devlin to believe that Clancy was not guilty by reason of insanity for the alleged murder of her three children.
She said that she had been “leaning towards” that decision but found the testimonies convincing, as “there was nothing but good said about Lindsey, and how amazing of a mother she was, and how much she loved her children.”
“Everywhere you looked there was just love,” Devlin continued, adding that she believed Clancy hadn’t gotten the help she needed for postpartum psychosis.

“This wouldn’t have happened if Lindsey didn’t get lost in the system and failed by the system,” she said.
Devlin, like the other 10 jurors, believed that Clancy was not guilty by reason of insanity.
However, the holdout juror disagreed, Devlin said, believing that Clancy had the mental wherewithal sufficient for a conviction, as she had allegedly planned the deaths by getting her husband out of the house and researching how much time she would have to kill her children before trying to kill herself by jumping out of the window.

In closing, King said that she was “very fascinated by the holdout juror, learning he’s a black man today,” before Devlin estimated the juror to be in his 30s.
