Following an extensive NBA probe into salary cap circumvention by the Clippers, Kawhi Leonard’s trade from Los Angeles to the Toronto Raptors has finally been completed after months of limbo.

Although the franchises struck a deal June 30, the transaction was put on hold while league officials investigated claims that the Clippers breached salary cap regulations when they originally signed Leonard in free agency. Both Los Angeles and Toronto reaffirmed their initial agreement earlier Monday, formally executing the trade on a call with the league office.

To make the move to Toronto possible, Leonard waived a $7.45 million trade kicker that otherwise would have pushed the Raptors past the first apron, according to ESPN. Per the outlet’s Bobby Marks, finalizing the deal leaves the Raptors with 13 guaranteed contracts and $2.3 million in breathing room beneath the threshold.
