Joe Jonas Recalls Plunging Into Terrifying Situation At Sea
Joe Jonas revealed that he experienced a terrifying fall between two boats while on vacation in Italy, leaving him shaken.
He recalled the story on the Sept. 22 episode of “The Morgan Stewart Show.”
Jonas said he was traveling with friends and decided to stop at a restaurant by the water. The restaurant required patrons to use its transfer boat and crew, and the unexpected happened when he tried to board the tender boat.
He said the crew held on to the tender amid “rocky” waters, and a “mate” held onto his arm and told him to proceed to the other boat.
“But as I take a step, I think a wave came in, and it pushed the boat far out from the yacht,” he said.
Jonas fell between the two boats.
“It sounds like the bougiest problem, but it was terrifying because then I slipped and fell between these two boats,” he said.
“The first mate tried to grab me, but he also fell in after me.”
Jonas said he surfaced from beneath the water and realized he was between the two boats, so he tried frantically to get away. Crew members urged him to swim toward the yacht’s ladder, but “that’s where the engines are.”

“The first time I climbed up, I must have hit my shin or something … and then I fell back in,” Jonas said. He went on to say he eventually managed to “roll” onto the boat.
He admitted that the gravity of the ordeal didn’t set in for at least an hour.
“In those moments, you’re just like, your adrenaline is going so fast,” he said.
He initially thought he was fine, but after some time, he realized he had experienced a close call.
“I finally came down from the anxiety,” he said.
“That shit was really scary.’ Like that really spooked me for a while. It was really intense,” he said. (RELATED: Bono Reveals Dolly Parton Recorded Final Song With U2)

After the full extent of the situation set in, Jonas said his thoughts went to his children.
“I also wanted to call my kids right away,” he said.
Jonas shares Willa, 6, and Delphine, 4, with ex-wife Sophie Turner.
“I was like, ‘I just need to call them. I need to see them. I need to see their faces.’ Because you realize it could have been any of us. It could have been really bad,” he said.
