A NEW LEVEL OF STUPID

Hasan Piker – along with a host of other lefty organizations, like Code Pink – is under federal probe for potentially being an unregistered foreign agent. He recently received a subpoena related to a “humanitarian aid” convoy he took to Cuba.

Most smart people, when they’re under such an investigation, usually take the advice of a lawyer. Usually that advice is to shut the f*** up about it. Then, if they can afford it, public relations firms advise the principal on how to address the issue publicly. How the confluence of these two advice nodes manifest themselves in the target’s public statements is typically in professions of innocence with a dash of “this is a witch hunt” and maybe some appeal to political persecution. The entrepreneurial (see: shameless) then make an appeal for subscriptions, donations, etc. Give me money!

The smart ones do that.

Piker went on his livestream and publicly laid out exactly the foreign funding pipeline the probe was likely hoping to uncover, presumably after a ton of digging.

Roy Singham is a tech billionaire turned Marxist who defected to China and has since financially backed some of the most corrosive left-wing activism in America.

Think of him as China’s George Soros. It’s one thing if an outside observer dabbles in some conjecture along the lines of Piker’s little disclosure here, it’s quite another if an insider and recipient of the funding publicly outlines the (alleged?) foreign influence program he’s in.

Now, popular broadcasters being stupid is nothing really of note. Katy Tur, who makes $4 million a year at MSDNC, recently asked with a straight face if the belief that rights derive from “our creator” actually “puts God over our Declaration of Independence.” 

And so on, you get the point. You can be talented at broadcast journalism and be a complete fool. You can get your network in serious legal trouble, as we saw in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s assassination and before that with Trump’s lawsuits.

Never, as far as I can tell, in modern broadcast history has the subject of a federal probe publicly laid out a roadmap for that probe to widen its scope significantly.

Congratulations, Hasan, you have discovered a new level of stupid.
