NBC News Turns Dem Mayor’s Shocking Chinese Spy Allegations Into Textbook Case Of ‘Racism!’ Hysteria
Corporate media is once again leaning into the “Stop Asian Hate” narrative, which spread like wildfire during the COVID-19 pandemic, after a Democratic California mayor was charged with acting as a foreign agent on behalf of the Chinese Communist Party.

Arcadia, California, Mayor Eileen Wang pleaded guilty after she was charged Tuesday with acting as an illegal agent of the People’s Republic of China, and now faces up to 10 years in prison. Of course, NBC News ran a story about online bigot trolls who replied to FBI Director Kash Patel’s post announcing the charges. “Advocates said they are concerned that this rhetoric is part of a long history of fear and discrimination that has proliferated for generations in regard to Asian communities, especially Chinese immigrants,” the outlet reported. “Experts who spoke to NBC News said Asian people in the U.S. are often treated as perpetual outsiders, which can motivate violence in some cases.”
Wang is accused of collaborating with Yaoning “Mike” Sun between late 2020 and 2022 to advocate for the interests of the PRC within the United States. The duo managed U.S. News Center, a website presented as a local news outlet for Chinese Americans, where they allegedly published pro-PRC material under the instruction of the PRC.
Democratic California Rep. Judy Chu, who honored Wang in 2024 as a “Woman of the Year,” told NBC News she was “shocked and disappointed” by the case. The outlet also noted that she had bravely “pushed back against anti-Asian sentiment that quickly began to circulate online and in some media outlets.”

“The Asian American community has already weathered stigma, prejudice, and violence, fueled by rhetoric from President Trump and his administration,” she said in a statement. “We saw this in the violent anti-Asian hate crimes during COVID-19, and the unfair targeting of scholars of Chinese descent in Trump’s ‘China Initiative’ program — both of which I have fought against in Congress.”
Yes, because the real issue here is online trolls who have nothing else better to do with their lives, and not the fact that the Chinese Communist Party infiltrated an American mayor and turned her against her country!
For her part, Wang is sorry—at least according to her lawyers.
“She apologizes and is sorry for the mistakes she has made in her personal life,” her attorneys said, NBC News reported. “Her love and devotion for the Arcadia community have not changed and did not waver.”
