FDA Recalls Boner Bears ‘Sex Chocolate’ Over Undeclared ‘Viagra’ Ingredient
Federal lab tests caught the active drug from Viagra hidden inside “Boner Bears Sex Chocolate,” driving the candy’s maker to recall the product nationwide.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) warned that the undeclared sildenafil can react with nitrate medications such as nitroglycerin and drag blood pressure down to hazardous levels, according to the agency’s May 23 recall notice. People living with diabetes, high blood pressure, elevated cholesterol, or heart disease face the steepest danger from accidental exposure.
JXK Enterprises confirmed the voluntary recall of Lot #BB21125 in the same notice, according to the FDA. The bars ship individually wrapped in black packaging printed with the words “Boner Bears Sex Chocolate,” “Fast Acting Max Strength,” and “3 Doses Per Bar.” No other lots fall under the action. The FDA flagged sildenafil in two Boner Bears products on the same day, Gizmodo reported in February. The agency named both the chocolate bars and a chocolate syrup on February 13. Lockout Supplements, the Texas company behind the syrup, pulled its product within two weeks. JXK waited more than three months before pulling its bars.

The agency keeps an ongoing surveillance program for sexual enhancement supplements and publishes a continually refreshed list of brands caught hiding pharmaceutical ingredients, according to Gizmodo.
JXK has not received any reports of harm tied to the chocolate, the FDA notice stated. Customers holding the bars should stop consuming them and call the company at (954) 281-2459 or email [email protected] to arrange a refund.
The recalled chocolate sells through elyxr.com, a retailer that also moves cannabinoid goods and mushroom-based wellness products, the New York Post reported.
