ROOKE: Far-Left Influencer Tucks Tail At Anti-ICE Protest After Getting Beaten By His Own Game
Far-left livestreamer Hasan Piker tried but failed to capitalize on the out-of-control anti-ICE protests outside Delaney Hall detention facility in Newark, New Jersey.

Piker was seen at the protest with an entourage of fellow left-wing activists and a local congressional candidate, Adam Hamawy. The Central New Jersey Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) chapter sponsored a steering committee meeting with Hamawy in May.
Piker, who promotes socialist and communist ideas while deriving significant income from streaming, was shouted at by a man who labeled him a “dog abuser.” The heckler was seemingly referring to a 2025 viral clip that prompted allegations Piker was using an electric collar on his dog, Kaya.
It’s all quite funny when you think about it. Here is a man who promotes far-left ideals and has called for the left to use violence to bring about their political agenda, being shouted down for supposed dog abuse. (Sign up for Mary Rooke’s weekly newsletter here!)
The anti-ICE protest allegedly involved projectiles being thrown at officers, the use of barriers as weapons, tires set on fire, attempts to breach fences, and scuffles with ICE agents and New Jersey state police. Officials had to deploy tear gas, pepper spray, and mass arrests to restore peace.
It’s unclear if the heckler was involved in the anti-ICE protest. Still, he found time to denounce a high-profile supporter of the left’s actions for failing to pass a purity test.

Animal rights rank high in the hierarchy of their concerns. While Piker aligns with them on anti-ICE sentiments, socialism, and criticism of policing, he can still be ejected for insufficient virtue on dogs.
Piker won’t learn the lesson that the left doesn’t believe in human dignity, and the violence he supports will eventually find him, too. After he was seen leaving the protest with his tail between his legs, he attacked Democratic New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill for deploying state police, accusing her of aiding the Trump administration’s agenda. (RELATED: Media’s New Democratic Darling May Fall Flat If History Any Indication)
These purity tests are nothing new. During Mao Zedong’s Cultural Revolution in China, Red Guards radicalized youth activists to conduct public struggle sessions, denunciations, beatings, and destruction on a massive scale. Millions were persecuted, even devoted Mao supporters and early revolutionaries were not spared for failing to prove their “redness.”
What Piker experienced is only the beginning. If these violent activists are allowed to continue, no one is safe.
