It has been alleged by the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation that USA Hockey, the governing body of Team USA Hockey, coordinated events that permit transgender athletes to participate in the women\u2019s division, with competition being officially sanctioned.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe committee recently learned that months after\u00a0USA Hockey received complaints about trans women playing in a Dallas women\u2019s league, the Dallas women\u2019s league was suspended,\u201d a statement from the Senate committee to Fox News Digital read.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt will be replaced with an open league to provide \u2018a league experience that all can enjoy.\u2019 This essentially means there is no longer a Dallas league dedicated solely to women, and women who joined the Dallas league, seeking to only compete with women, must now choose between possibly competing against men or not competing at all. Sent to Fox News Digital, a written report was also issued by the committee.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s claimed in the report that following USA Hockey updating its policy on participant eligibility to be in compliance with the policy from the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC), as well as an executive order from President Donald Trump to \u201csave women\u2019s sports,\u201d a new registration classification for adult hockey branded \u201cthe open classification\u201d was then launched by USA Hockey.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The classification is pushed as a \u201cflexible participation pathway for any registered USA Hockey member, regardless of sex or gender identity\u201d and is specifically meant for transgender athletes to compete in female sports.<\/p>\n

\u201cUSA Hockey leadership is encouraging women\u2019s leagues and tournaments with women\u2019s divisions to continue marketing themselves as being for women, but with caveats that the league\/tournament division is inclusive of male athletes. Through this loophole, men who identify as women can participate in a league marketed as a women\u2019s league,\u201d reads the report, per Fox News Digital.<\/p>\n

Based in Texas, the Dallas Stars Women\u2019s Hockey League (DSWHL) was specifically named in the report.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe DSWHL women\u2019s league began its spring season in April 2026, after USA Hockey\u2019s updated participant eligibility policy became effective. Despite this, multiple men who identify as women are playing in the league,\u201d states the report. \u201cUSA Hockey is aware of this and has done nothing to prevent the men from continuing to participate in the women\u2019s league. As a result, women who joined the DSWHL women\u2019s league specifically to avoid competing against men are now forced to compete against men if they want to play the sport they love.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is wrong on every level and clearly violates President Trump\u2019s executive order and the recent changes made to USA Hockey\u2019s gender policies.\u201d<\/p>\n
