The fund was intended to compensate victims of government weaponization and lawfare with formal apologies and monetary relief.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s dead for now,\u201d one senior administration official told Axios.<\/p>\n<p>The DOJ confirmed to the Caller that they would be abiding by a recent court decision halting the president\u2019s settlement fund, despite vehemently disagreeing with their ruling.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Department of Justice disagrees strongly with the decision on the Anti-Weaponization Fund put forth by the United States District Court Judge in the Eastern District of Virginia, wherein the Court stated that, under no circumstances, may the Department of Justice proceed with the Anti-Weaponization Fund recently established in order to make up for the tremendous abuse, harm, and hate unfairly shown to so many people,\u201d a DOJ spokesperson told the Caller.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/10519169\/dailycaller_incontent_2 --> <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis Fund was open to anybody who was so weaponized, targeted, or persecuted, whether they were Democrat, Republican, Conservative, Independent, or otherwise,\u201d the spokesperson added. The Department will abide by the Court\u2019s ruling.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The fund was announced just two weeks ago after Trump reached an agreement with the Treasury Department and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to drop a $10 billion lawsuit the president filed after the agencies released his tax records.\u00a0<strong>(RELATED: Here\u2019s How The Anti-Weaponization Fund Will Really Work \u2014 And Who It Could Help)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/hometransferguide.com\/?p=1037\">Morgan Wallen Pokes At His Piano-Flipping Viral Moment<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re planning to respect the courts,\u201d an administration official told Axios.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/10519169\/dailycaller_incontent_3 --> <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis has become a distraction,\u201d another official said. \u201cThe president believes government was weaponized against people \u2014 it wasn\u2019t just him. But this isn\u2019t the time and vehicle for it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Another source implied to Axios that the decision is temporary and still subject to change.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe plan right now is to halt it,\u201d the source said. \u201cBut the president likes the fund, he believes in it. So nothing is final until it\u2019s final.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Notably, Senate Majority Leader John Thune seemed to be in the dark about the White House\u2019s decision making process surrounding the fund.
