Andrew Clyde filed articles of impeachment against Judge Eleanor Ross over her courthouse sex escapades.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/hometransferguide.com\/?p=1471\">Karmelo Anthony Found Guilty Of Murder, Sentenced to 35 Years<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Clyde alleges that Ross, a sitting District Judge for the Northern District of Georgia, engaged in an extramarital affair with a high-ranking Atlanta police officer and later made false statements during a judicial misconduct investigation.<\/p>\n<p>In the impeachment resolution, Clyde wrote that Ross \u201cparticipated in an extramarital affair with high-ranking Atlanta Police Department officer Kelley Collier.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" data-aspect-ratio=\"0.7729220222793488\" data-auto-height=\"true\" frameborder=\"0\" height=\"600\" scrolling=\"no\" src=\"https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/embeds\/1049030884\/content?start_page=1&amp;view_mode=scroll&amp;access_key=key-uch7ZqRwhHBKQy2ha0Ok\" width=\"100%\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p> CLYDE ArticlesOfImpeachment Ross (1)\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/10519169\/dailycaller_incontent_2 --> <\/p>\n<p>The Georgia Republican wrote that Ross and Collier \u201cengaged in intimate contact, including, by admission of Judge Ross, sexual intercourse,\u201d and that Ross\u2019 conduct \u201cdemonstrated a gross lack of judgment and created an uncomfortable and troubling workplace for staff members.\u201d <strong>(RELATED: GOP Congressman Moves To Impeach Judge Reprimanded For Courthouse Sex Escapades)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Clyde further noted that former clerks allegedly \u201cheard sounds resulting from the intimate contact coming from Judge Ross\u2019 chambers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The impeachment resolution further alleges that Ross\u2019 affair created both an actual and apparent conflict of interest because the officer\u2019s department regularly had matters before the court.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/10519169\/dailycaller_incontent_3 --> <\/p>\n<p>According to the articles, Ross later told court staff she had consumed \u201ctoo many martinis\u201d at the event the night before presiding over a criminal proceeding in her courtroom. Lawmakers further argued the affair \u201cleft Judge Ross vulnerable to extortion\u201d because neither the officer\u2019s spouse nor Ross\u2019 spouse was aware of the relationship.<\/p>\n<p>Clyde\u2019s resolution also points to Ross\u2019 attendance at a campaign event hosted by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis. According to the articles, Ross initially denied the allegations, writing, \u201cI have never engaged in sexual intercourse in my office, nor anywhere else in the Courthouse.\u201d She also allegedly told investigators she was \u201cnot sure who this allegation concerns\u201d and later claimed she was \u201castounded and confused\u201d and had \u201cno idea what this clerk is referring to.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lawmakers argue those statements amounted to obstruction, alleging Ross made \u201caffirmative attempts to prevent the Chief Judges from learning of her misconduct\u201d and ultimately \u201csubverted the integrity of an official proceeding.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a statement to the Daily Caller, Clyde contended, \u201cWhen judges become political activists or engage in judicial misconduct, Congress bears both the responsibility and the constitutional authority to hold them accountable. Judge Ross\u2019 deeply disturbing actions prove she is incapable of displaying integrity or showing impartiality. She\u2019s simply unfit to remain a U.S. District Court Judge for the Northern District of Georgia, which is why I\u2019m leading the charge to impeach Judge Ross and ultimately remove her from the bench.\u201d <strong>(RELATED: Georgia Lawmaker To Investigate Fani Willis Over $2 Million Biden Grant)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Clyde\u2019s resolution points to prior congressional precedent, noting that federal Judge Samuel B. Kent was impeached by the House in 2009 on four articles that included allegations of courthouse sexual misconduct and false statements to judicial investigators. The resolution argues that the findings against Ross are closely analogous and satisfy the same standard for impeachment.<\/p>\n<p>Ross, who was appointed by President Barack Obama in 2014, first came under scrutiny in September 2025 after a law clerk\u2019s complaint triggered a formal misconduct  under the Judicial Conduct and Disability Act.<\/p>\n<p>A Special Committee of the Eleventh Circuit subsequently issued three unanimous findings of .
