The Cleveland Clinic has entered into <\/span>a decades-long commitment \u201cto not perform or offer sex-rejecting procedures\u201d for minors<\/span>, according to the DOJ\u2019s press release. As part of the resolution, Cleveland Clinic committed to shell out $2 million for detransitioners\u2019 restorative care \u201cregardless of their insured status or ability to pay.\u201d (RELATED: Bishops Ban Sex Changes At US Catholic Hospitals)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe Department of Justice is steadfastly committed to protecting America\u2019s children,\u201d Associate Attorney General Stanley Woodward said in a statement. \u201cJust as the resolution with Texas Children\u2019s, today\u2019s resolution with Cleveland Clinic furthers that commitment and puts these providers on notice that this Department will vigorously enforce federal law where children are put at risk.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cFurthermore, the term Sex-Rejecting Procedure d<\/span>oes not include psychological or psychiatric treatments such as talk therapy, counseling, or other <\/span>non-medical or surgical mental health interventions,\u201d according to the settlement agreement. <\/span><\/p>\n

When reached for comment, the DOJ referred the Daily Caller News Foundation to its news release from June 5.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe are pleased to have worked collaboratively toward a resolution related to an unintentional coding issue involving a small number of patients,\u201d a Cleveland Clinic spokesperson told the DCNF in a statement on Thursday. \u201cWe remain focused on providing exceptional care to our patients and communities. We have complied and will continue to comply with all federal and state laws.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI am grateful that institutions like Cleveland Clinic and Texas Children\u2019s have decided to be part of the solution, not part of the problem,\u201d Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Division Brett Shumate said in a statement. \u201cCleveland Clinic\u2019s commitment to providing millions of dollars towards care for detransitioners is emblematic of just that.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI am grateful for this resolution with Cleveland Clinic, but our work is far from over, and our division will continue to work tirelessly to protect America\u2019s children and hold accountable those that have preyed on vulnerable children, whether they be pharmaceutical companies or medical providers,\u201d Shumate continued.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The settlement comes after the DOJ announced on May 15 that Texas Children\u2019s Hospital had entered into agreements with the Department and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton \u201cthat include commitments to not perform such procedures on children, which include the administration of puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The agreement also \u201cdoes not reflect a conclusion or admission that [The Cleveland Clinic Foundation], or any other <\/span>subcomponent or affiliated entity thereof, is subject to suit or liability under federal civil or <\/span>criminal law and does not waive any defense that such entities may raise in any future proceeding.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The Cleveland Clinic quietly erased\u00a0pages on their website promoting gender ideology and equity efforts following the launch of an investigative campaign that exposed the hospital system\u2019s \u201cwoke\u201d policies, the DCNF previously reported in February 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n
