A bombshell Vanity Fair report published June 12 alleges \u201cCall Her Daddy\u201d host Alex Cooper is a mean-girl behind closed doors.<\/p>\n

The publication claimed to have heard from over 40 sources alleging Cooper acted differently behind the scenes than when the cameras were rolling, and alleged that she failed to shield her staff from what they described as her \u201ctoxic\u201d husband, Matt Kaplan. Kaplan, who they claim calls the shots at their media empire, was referred to as the \u201cpuppeteer\u201d in the shocking expose \u2013 while Cooper looked on.<\/p>\n

Rumors surrounding Cooper began to swirl when she became embroiled in a passive-aggressive feud with influencer Alix Earle following an apparent business fallout. According to Vanity Fair, Cooper announced in February 2025 that Earle had been ousted from Unwell, her media network.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe do not stand for mean girls at this company,\u201d Cooper said, according to Vanity Fair.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The publication went on to allege that those words didn\u2019t quite ring true.<\/p>\n

They claimed more than 40 unnamed sources, primarily current of former employees at Unwell, said Kaplan was the source of tension on set. One of their sources claimed, \u201cMatt creates the most toxic work environment that I\u2019ve ever seen.\u201d<\/p>\n

Complaints made by Vanity Fair\u2019s anonymous sources ranged from yelling that led to tears being shed, all the way to inappropriate sexual conversations.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve seen producers cry,\u201d one source reportedly told the outlet.<\/p>\n

A former employee allegedly said, \u201cI\u2019ve heard him in the office be like to employees, \u2018Who did you have sex with this weekend?\u201d and \u201cHe\u2019d be like, \u2018What did you do this weekend? Who did you fuck?\u201d according to Vanity Fair.<\/p>\n

The publication noted that a rep for Cooper and Kaplan shut down the claims, calling them \u201cfalse and outrageous.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Vanity Fair expose claimed sources reported Kaplan used words like stupid\u201d and \u201cretarded\u201d when referring to employees, and threatened their careers.<\/p>\n

Another source claimed Cooper witnessed instances where Kaplan lost control of his emotions and screamed \u201cThe nastiest things\u201d at people, but instead of shielding her staff or rising to their defense, she failed to intervene.<\/p>\n

One of their sources claimed Kaplan\u2019s seemingly casual touches sometimes \u201clingered,\u201d making them feel uncomfortable, although another source pushed back by saying he was \u201cwas definitely a flirty guy, but [I] can\u2019t say that I felt uncomfortable,\u201d according to Vanity Fair.<\/p>\n

Cooper\u2019s feminine messaging on \u201cCall Her Daddy,\u201d and her public assertion that \u201cThis girl on girl shit needs to stop,\u201d amid her feud with Earle led fans to believe her stance was far different than what Vanity Fair\u2019s sources reported.<\/p>\n

An individual told the outlet Cooper \u201cwas within earshot\u201d when during an explosive moment in which Kaplan \u201cburst out of the video-village area during the production, saying, \u2018I really want to yell at somebody right now,’\u201d but claimed she didn\u2019t step in.<\/p>\n

The sources reported a stark contrast between Cooper\u2019s public image as a female leader who rallies for the women around her, and her persona behind the scenes.<\/p>\n
