During the press conference, a 2009 Infiniti and a 2007 Nissan 350Z were both dumped into the shredder, where they were destroyed within three minutes, the outlet reported.<\/p>\n<p>The driver of the Infiniti allegedly participated in a street takeover, got \u201cdangerously\u201d close to spectators, and almost crashed into other vehicles, while the driver of the Nissan allegedly performed tricks using the vehicle, fled from law enforcement, and changed the vehicle\u2019s appearance to avoid being caught, according to 8 News Now.<strong> (RELATED: REPORT: Florida Police Issue 515 Citations As They Shut Down Illegal Street Racing)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Deputy Chief Branden Clarkson joined McMahill at the press conference and said police formed a special team in 2026 to identify and target repeat offenders who engage in illegal street racing and street takeovers. Around two dozen suspects have been arrested in connection with 36 illegal street races and takeovers. It is not acceptable,\u201d McMahill said.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/10519169\/dailycaller_incontent_3 --> <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you participate in these criminal activities, we are going to arrest you, we are going to prosecute you, and we are going to destroy the vehicles that you use to create havoc,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>While authorities have previously installed speed cushions and shot spotters to discourage illegal street racing and street takeovers, the problems have continued, KTNV reported.
