Israeli defense researcher Beni Sabti said the U.S. might need to suffer through an attack to renew U.S. support for Israel and remind Americans who their allies are in an X post on Saturday. While the post was later edited, an X Community Note revealed the content of the original version.<\/p>\n

\u201cMaybe USA needs another Pearl Harbor or 9\/11 to remember who is the enemy and who is the friend,\u201d Sabti wrote on X.<\/p>\n

The post was then edited and replaced with an updated statement.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u201cGood luck for USA to handle Iran regime terrorists. I hope for USA administration to remember who is the enemy and who is the friend,\u201d the updated post reads.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wrote it but it was a translation from Persian to English and it didn\u2019t came out well so when some people brought it to my attention I edited it,\u201d Sabti told the Daily Caller News Foundation after publication. \u201cI wanted to say that if USA compromises with terrorists, they become more and more \u2018hungry\u2019 and turn more against the western culture, but as I said it didn\u2019t come out good.\u201d<\/p>\n

American journalist Glenn Greenwald addressed the comments in an X post on Monday, quoting the Daily Caller\u2019s post about Sabti\u2019s statement.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u201cUnder the official 9\/11 story, Iran had zero involvement with that attack,\u201d Greenwald said in the X post. \u201cThe countries with the closest relationship to 9\/11 attackers are the tyrannies called \u2018our closest partners\u2019: Saudi, UAE, Egypt. Yet another bizarre attribute of \u2018The War on Terror.\u2019 Odd threat here.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI REALLY DIDN\u2019T MEAN THAT USA SHOULD SUFFER FROM TERRORIST ATTACKS, JUST KNOWING THAT COMPROMISING WITH [the terrorists] IT\u2019S NOT A GOOD THING,\u201d Sabti told the DCNF.<\/p>\n

Israeli Criticism Of The Iran Deal<\/h3>\n

As the U.S. works to negotiate with Iran toward peace in the Middle East, President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance have been critical of Israel\u2019s recent behavior in Lebanon.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can do a little softer touch, Bibi,\u201d Trump said Wednesday at the G7 summit. \u201cI\u2019m saying, when two drones are shot into the desert and dropped harmlessly, you don\u2019t have to knock down buildings in Beirut.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cDonald J. Trump is the only head of state in the entire world who is sympathetic to the nation of Israel at this moment in time, and he happens to be the head of state of the world\u2019s superpower,\u201d Vance said Thursday during a White House press briefing. \u201cIf I was in the cabinet of the Israeli government, I might not be attacking the only powerful ally that I have anywhere left in the entire world.\u201d<\/p>\n

These statements have sparked criticism of the U.S. negotiating efforts from pro-Israel commentators.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn a period of two months, Israel has gone from a great ally and partner in war \u2026 to Israeli PM Netanyahu being a difficult person who should be thanking us for saving his country from Iran,\u201d pro-Israel Fox News host Mark Levin said in an X post on June 14.<\/p>\n

The U.S. wants to \u201cdeal with them [Iran] so badly that you\u2019re going to tell our allies in the region [Israel] to stand down, you are giving them an enormous amount of forward momentum, and that is a huge mistake that should not be done, and I hope that the president does not do that,\u201d pro-Israel commentator Ben Shapiro said on episode 2446 of the \u201cBen Shapiro Show.\u201d \u201cAgain, that signing ceremony in Switzerland should be cancelled. It should not happen.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ben Shapiro and Mark Levin did not immediately reply to the DCNF\u2019s requests for comment.<\/p>\n

Sabti was also critical of the U.S. negotiations\u00a0in another X post on Saturday.<\/p>\n

\u201cIran regime won\u2019t be satisfied of any agreement with USA,\u201d Sabti said in the post.<\/p>\n

The criticism from Trump and Vance comes after multiple Israeli attacks on Lebanon.<\/p>\n

Iran announced Saturday it will close the Strait of Hormuz, accusing Israel of launching strikes in Lebanon in violation of a ceasefire which had taken effect hours earlier, Reuters reported. Israel Defense Forces killed 361 people and injured over 1,000 people in a single day on April 8 during Operation Eternal Darkness, the BBC\u00a0reported, citing Lebanese authorities.<\/p>\n

Thousands of Americans perished in each of the attacks Sabti\u2019s original post mentioned.<\/p>\n

The Japanese Empire\u2019s attack on Pearl Harbor cost the U.S. dearly. Over 2,400 Americans were slaughtered in the surprise attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, on Dec. 7, 1941, according to the U.S. Navy.<\/p>\n
