A conservative organization warned that summer camps tied to the Young Men\u2019s Christian Association (YMCA) continue to list gender identity policies for campers and counselors.<\/p>\n

After the American Parents Coalition (APC) warned parents about YMCA\u2019s gender identity polices regarding cabins, locker rooms and showers in May 2025, the organization reportedly scrubbed much of their content tied to gender ideology, the Daily Wire previously reported. The organization released a \u201cLookout\u201d on their website Tuesday arguing that the National Council of Young Men\u2019s Christian Associations (Y-USA), the YMCA\u2019s national govering body, had \u201cembedded gender ideology into its national infrastructure.\u201d (RELATED: Trailblazing Trans Lawmaker Sentenced To Over 33 Years For Child Exploitation)<\/strong><\/p>\n

YMCA chapters run multiple overnight summer camps across the country for kids. Multiple U.S.-based camps feature trans or gender-based policies, according to documents shared with the Daily Caller. Camp Olson\u2019s policy in Minnesota , \u201cTrans* individuals may select either restroom.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Camp Olson policy document also reads, \u201cEach cabin is assigned at least two staff, and Camp Olson strives to keep an appropriate adult ratio in each cabin that corresponds to the gender identities of the residing campers. At least one of those staff\u2019s gender will correspond to the gender identities of the campers who will stay there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Camp Letts\u2019 handbook in Maryland , \u201cCabins at Camp Letts are assigned to a camper based on the gender with which a camper identifies as on the Campbrain registration portal.\u201d If the camper claims they are non-binary or transgender, leadership will coordinate \u201con a case-by-case basis to ensure a cabin assignment that is most amenable to the camper and their family,\u201d according to document.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Sherman Lake Camp in Michigan features an \u201call-gender cabin\u201d for camp counselors, according to its website \u201cCounselors are asked prior to the camping season which cabins they are comfortable leading and sleeping in, just like campers.\u201d<\/p>\n

The camp also promises<\/span> that if a camper shares information about his or her identity, staff will \u201conly share this information with caregivers if the camper gives express consent,\u201d unless there is a health or safety issue involved, according to the website.<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

YMCA also features a Pride Camp in Pennsylvania that provides a \u201cnon-gendered village\u201d for campers, according to its website.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs we enter into another summer camp season, YMCA camps across the country are still allowing males into girls\u2019 cabins, showers, and private spaces,\u201d Alleigh Marr\u00e9, executive director of American Parents Coalition, said. \u201cThe dedication to embracing and promoting transgender ideology continues to be a priority.\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

YMCA claims it \u201cdoes not have a nationwide policy around locker room and bathroom facilities,\u201d according to the APC\u2019s \u201cLookout.\u201d The APC alleged that the Y-USA provided guidelines on how to provide a \u201cSafe Space for LGBTQ+ Campers.\u201d However, the link to this policy does not appear to be current.<\/p>\n

According to a Y-USA activities ending Dec. 31, 2025, the organization received $5.3 million in federal grants from various government agencies.<\/p>\n
