I\u2019m sure you\u2019ll miss me.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/10519169\/dailycaller_incontent_2 --> <\/p>\n<p><i><span>So what\u2019s happening?<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>NORMIES<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>There\u2019s a word sitting like a piping hot coal at the center of the fringe left\u2019s most virulent political strain, and it\u2019s time we who care about western civ start hammering it for all its worth.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/10519169\/dailycaller_incontent_3 --> <\/p>\n<p><span>First, some stats. Roughly 40% of New York City\u2019s population is foreign-born. That\u2019s up 10% since the turn of the century, and it\u2019s a meaningful 10%. Nearly the same amount, 42%, are on Medicaid, 20% are on food stamps, more than a third live in \u201crent-stabilized\u201d apartments, 5% live in public housing and 25% (!!!) either work for the government itself or a government-funded NGO.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In 2014, the New York State Medicaid program was paying 20,000 people to stay at home with ailing relatives in an at-home nursing program. Following a rule change in 2015, the number jumped to 250,000. Now that number has surpassed 620,000 people. It\u2019s fully 12 percent of NYC\u2019s private sector. It\u2019s also dominated by immigrants (anyone else smell a scam?).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Now the next relevant question: Who voted for all the socialists?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Not just Mamdani, but three Zohran-endorsed, avowed socialists just won their primaries for US Congress in NYC. One of them, Darializa Avila Chevalier, has been so consistently and explicitly vocal about her intent to destroy western civilization that some people wonder if Congress will even seat her.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Chevalier won areas of New York City based on two key metrics. The less Hispanic and working class, the more white, \u201ceducated\u201d and young, the more likely she was to carry the neighborhood.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Specifically, so-called \u201cdownwardly mobile\u201d young, white people with college debt and pointless educations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The only hope for these people to make a living is to land an executive gig in government welfare or a laptop job at an NGO that acts as a middleman for government welfare. That\u2019s pretty much it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>New York City is a post-American political hellscape dominated by a young, white, mediocre-elite vanguard that envisions a sprawling redistributive administrative state catering mostly to rapidly growing foreign populations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>They need this to work because the other option is no power or influence whatsoever and making coffees for $20 an hour forever.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Thankfully, the word at the core of their ideology is our strength: \u201cNormativity.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>You\u2019ve heard it before I\u2019m sure. \u201cHeteronormativity\u201d is one of their favorites. The ranks of this vanguard are dominated by \u201ceducated\u201d critical theorists applying superficial, low-IQ versions of Chomskyite contrarianism to nearly every aspect of life.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>These are the same people in New York who think the government officially referring to pregnant women as \u201cgestating parents\u201d is perfectly acceptable. Some believe these types winning is a gift to the GOP. Others believe that this fringe vanguard, like the Bolsheviks of last century, has the potential to suddenly not be so fringe anymore.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Indeed, nationally, self-identified Democrats sympathize more with socialism than their moderate cohort.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Fortunately, both sides are right. Conservatives should have urgency, but also, this is a bit of a gift. It all boils down to that central assumption among elite leftists: That normalcy is bad.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Normativity, goes the thinking, is itself a form of \u201coppression.\u201d This is why they want to dismantle everything that\u2019s normal. The nuclear family, borders, capitalism. Even more insane, the very meanings of basic words and ideas. Gender is a \u201cconstruct.\u201d Marriage is oppression. Success is plunder. But looting? That\u2019s just speech of the oppressed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cDo you know that you are a \u2018cismale\u2019? Have you ever heard of that term?\u201d Norm Macdonald asked podcast guest Stephen Merchant in 2016.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cA cisman?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cYes, so what it means is you were born a man and you identify as a man.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI don\u2019t understand. Is this a new phrase?\u201d Merchant asked politely.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cYes. It\u2019s a way of marginalizing a normal person,\u201d said Macdonald.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Speaking of normal, something else interesting happened yesterday.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The New York Times ran an entire article about Usha Vance and the \u201cPower of the Pregnant Image.\u201d In it, they cast Usha and her \u201cstretchy coral dress\u201d as symbols of \u201cpro-natalism\u201d, \u201cfamily\u201d and \u201cMAGA optics.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In response, Usha tweeted a screencap of the dress. It\u2019s from Old Navy and goes for $8.75.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>That\u2019s the big conspiracy\/controversy from New York City\u2019s hometown newspaper. Usha wears $8 maternity dresses and reads to her kids. It\u2019s the normalcy, Dear Reader, that bothers them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>One well-placed communicator in conservative politics remarked to me privately, \u201cThe NYT darkly hinting at the political symbolisms of pregnancy and [Usha] says \u2018so anyway, ladies, here\u2019s an amazing support pillow\u2019 is a perfect contrast.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cTruly, just, be normal. And the normies will respond.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>That, ladies and gents, is the ballgame. The radicals might be aggressive, but they are truly few. They\u2019re also institutionally, as a matter of course, incompetent. Competent people don\u2019t hope and dream to make their livelihood drawing six figures from a do-nothing, government-funded NGO.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>What conservatives need to do most is simply appeal to normalcy.
