The short-staffed co-hosts of \u2018The View\u2019 briefly delved into sports at the end of a segment Monday, and took aim at America\u2019s optics on the world stage after President Donald Trump called in a favor to FIFA in an effort to un-suspend an American player.<\/p>\n

A \u201cRed card is a red card is a red card,\u201d co-host Sunny Hostin stated on the Monday episode of \u2018The View,\u2019 which sparked a short segment before the end of the show. One of the other hosts, former Trump administration official-turned-Trump-critic Alyssa Farah Griffin, said that the one instance of \u201cTrump corruption [she] agreed with was the red card\u201d \u2014 she went on to argue that \u201cif you\u2019re going to call in a favor, do it so you can get one of the greatest players back on, it should have been a yellow card.\u201d<\/p>\n

The player the co-hosts were discussing is U.S. Men\u2019s Soccer star Folarin Balogun, who received a red card\u00a0for a foul during a match against Bosnia-Herzegovina, which, under\u00a0FIFA regulations, bars him from playing<\/span>\u00a0in the next game.<\/p>\n

Hostin noted that she was in Spain as the news broke about the success of Trump\u2019s attempt at reversal and remarked how Europeans are saying things along the lines of \u201cI can\u2019t believe America is so corrupt,\u201d to which Hostin rhetorically replied, \u201cHave you met the Trump administration?\u201d \u2014 which garnered applause from the other co-hosts and the audience on live TV.<\/p>\n
