Thomas Massie\u2019s resolution on June 30 that directed the OCWR and House Ethics Committee to release a list of congressional members subject to sexual misconduct investigations and disclose cases that resulted in taxpayer-funded monetary settlements. The OCWR told the Daily Caller News Foundation Thursday it will fully comply with the resolution, though they refused to provide further comment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe fully intend to comply with the provisions of H. Res. 1399 within 60 days of passage, as directed by the resolution. We will have no further comment until then,\u201d the OCWR told the DCNF.<\/p>\n<p>From Jan. 1, 1996, to Dec. 12, 2018, the OCWR approved 349 awards or settlements \u201cto resolve complaints against legislative branch offices,\u201d its general counsel told Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer in a letter, according to CNN. Eighty of those cases were settled by a House or Senate office. <strong>(RELATED: House Ethics Committee Investigating GOP Congressman Over Sexual Harassment, \u2018Hostile Work Environment\u2019 Allegations)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The payments used taxpayer money from a Treasury account that no longer exists as an option for lawmakers, CNN reported.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/10519169\/dailycaller_incontent_2 --> <\/p>\n<p>The resolution directed the Ethics Committee and OCWR to provide \u201cthe total amount of taxpayer funds included in all settlements, payments, reimbursements, awards, or other financial considerations paid in connection\u201d to these sexual misconduct investigations. Before its passage, Massie said the resolution was about transparency.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would urge my colleagues to vote for this in the interest of transparency and openness,\u201d Massie said. \u201cWe need to know what\u2019s been going on here in the House of Representatives in order to convince the people and ensure the people that we are conducting the people\u2019s business with the utmost integrity and treating the officers and the employees of this institution with the respect that they deserve.\u201d<\/p>\n<p> <!-- \/10519169\/dailycaller_incontent_3 --> <\/p>\n<p>The resolution passed in a 420-0 vote, with Republican South Carolina Rep. Nancy Mace voting \u201cpresent.\u201d Mace told CNN the measure was no different from her subpoena in May that compelled the OCWR to turn over information to Congress.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI already did this,\u201d Mace said. \u201cI subpoenaed the files in oversight in March and released them in May. The disclosure followed the resignations of Democratic California Rep. Eric Swalwell and Republican Texas Rep. Tony Gonzales after they faced allegations of sexual misconduct.<\/p>\n<p>The committee said in a statement it has not been notified \u201cof any awards or settlements\u201d related to sexual misconduct allegations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Committee is dedicated to providing transparency for the American public on sexual misconduct matters,\u201d the Ethics Committee said in a statement. \u201cHowever, as the Committee has previously publicly stated: the Committee does <em>not <\/em>handle sexual harassment lawsuits or have any involvement in settlements of such claims. In 2018, the Committee championed the passage of the CAA Reform Act, which required automatic referrals to this Committee of Member reimbursement of sexual harassment awards or settlements paid out of a U.S. Treasury fund and publication of such awards or settlements.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSince the enactment of that legislation, the Committee has not been notified of any awards or settlements relating to allegations of sexual harassment, sexual abuse, or other sexual misconduct by a Member,\u201d the statement continued.<\/p>\n<p>House Ethics Chairman Michael Guest said while the information they released was already public, he would support Massie\u2019s resolution, according to Politico.<\/p>\n<p>Massie\u2019s office did not respond to the DCNF\u2019s multiple requests for comment.<\/p>\n<p>The released documents revealed taxpayers paid over half a million dollars in confidential congressional sexual harassment settlements dating back decades, though Massie believed information was missing.<\/p>\n<p>Massie and Democratic California Rep.
