(Photo by Mario Tama\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><span>\u201cMedication abortion readiness includes, but is not limited to, assessment of each individual clinic to determine facility and training needs before beginning to provide abortion by medication techniques, purchasing equipment, making facility improvements, establishing clinical protocols, creating patient educational materials, and training staff,\u201d per the bill text. \u201cMedication abortion readiness does not include the provision of abortion by medication techniques.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Democratic California State Assemblymember Catherine Stefani, who is leading the legislation, claimed during an April 7 Assembly Standing Committee on Health hearing that the bill aims to close a \u201ccritical gap\u201d by \u201censuring that community college students, one of the most diverse and economically vulnerable populations in our state, have the same access to care as their peers at four year institutions.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/hometransferguide.com\/?p=3212\">Cops Reportedly Find Former MP, Farage Ally Dead, Seemingly Bludgeoned In Home<\/a><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/10519169\/dailycaller_incontent_3 --> <\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThis legislation would allow services to be provided specifically on college campuses that have existing health centers via telehealth or through contracted providers,\u201d Stefani continued.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Stefani also said in an April 6 statement that <span>California \u201chas led the nation in protecting reproductive rights, and this bill is the next step in making those rights a reality for all.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Stefani\u2019s office did not respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation\u2019s request for comment.<\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cHealthcare is a basic need for any human,\u201d Faculty Association of California Community Colleges Executive Director Stephanie Goldman told CalMatters. \u201cAnd of course, abortion access and abortion is a healthcare issue.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>An estimated 185,700 total <\/span><span>abortions were provided by California clinicians in 2025, according to a study by the Guttmacher Institute. Moreover, <\/span><span>71% <\/span><span>of clinician-provided abortions in the state were conducted via medication during 2023, the study shows.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Democratic California Gov.
