The third night of Jay-Z\u2019s \u201cExtra Innings\u201d concert faced a chaotic scene before Rihanna gave her first live public performance since 2023.<\/p>\n

Shortly after midnight, Jay-Z brought out Rihanna to perform her part in the 2009 hit \u201cRun This Town,\u201d according to Page Six. Before that, Rihanna hadn\u2019t performed live in front of a public audience since her Super Bowl halftime show medley in 2023.<\/p>\n

After the song, the singer addressed the crowd. \u201cY\u2019all know I\u2019m rusty, right? It\u2019s been a while. Y\u2019all with me right now?\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Rihanna then performed her 2015 song, \u201cBitch Better Have My Money,\u201d the outlet reported. Before exiting, she told the audience, \u201cI missed this shit, y\u2019all! New York, I love you guys!\u201d<\/p>\n

Rihanna\u2019s only known performance between the 2023 halftime show and Monday was a 90-minute private showing for Indian billionaire heir Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant\u2019s pre-wedding festivities, according to Page Six. She also performed at the 2023 Oscars, but that was an invite-only event.<\/p>\n

The show was delayed for roughly three hours because there were reportedly thousands of people trying to get in, The Hollywood Reporter reported. \u201cLet me explain the delay to you guys,\u201d Jay Z said. \u201cThere were like 10,000 people outside, and we closed all the doors, and somebody rushed the door.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThey closed the door for you guys\u2019 safety and everyone\u2019s safety outside. I don\u2019t want to start the music and people get trampled,\u201d the rapper continued. \u201cI\u2019m really sorry for the inconvenience, but I had to make sure everyone was OK. I appreciate your patience.\u201d<\/p>\n

Over three days, Jay-Z brought out several big names, including Pharrell Williams, Teyana Taylor, Usher, Jermaine Dupri and the rapper\u2019s wife, Beyonc\u00e9, according to Page Six.<\/p>\n
