Republican Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, the chair of the committee conducting the hearing, asked Fauci if he had a red folder on the table in front of him that contained a specific section of the U.S. Code. Fauci pleaded the Fifth Amendment and did not answer the question.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet the record report that the witness has refused to answer whether there\u2019s a folder in front of him based on his Fifth Amendment right,\u201d Paul said in response.<\/p>\n
