Klau wrote in a 51-page opinion that while the state had proven the company had sold at least one \u201c80% receiver\u201d (an unfinished receiver that can be completed at home) to someone in Connecticut, its demand for a $5,000 fine for each day the company\u2019s site was active did not stand up to scrutiny. <strong>(RELATED: Semiautomatic Firearms Selling Like Hotcakes As Gun Owners Try To Beat Clock On Dems\u2019 Licensing Scheme)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe attorney general has the legal authority to sue foreign companies for violating [the Connecticut Unfair Trade Practices Act (CUTPA)] violations if they violate a criminal statute by, as in this case, selling, delivering or otherwise transferring illegal gun parts to Connecticut residents,\u201d Klau wrote, but he observed that Indie Guns\u2019 actions were legal in Florida and the company wasn\u2019t prohibited from advertising in Connecticut.<\/p>\n<p>Klau did state that he would have fined Indie Guns $5,000 for selling the part to an investigator, but that the state instead chose to pursue the massive fine over the website. Klau also noted the manufacturer\u2019s Instagram page (which is no longer up) mocked Tong, with one post taunting him with a statement directed at \u201c[government] anti-gun ass clowns\u201d about \u201cuntracable unregistered unserialized Ghost Gunners\u201d and that Tong and others couldn\u2019t \u201cdo shit about it\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/hometransferguide.com\/?p=4214\">Earth, Wind, And Fire Band Member Suffers Medical Emergency Forcing Cancelation Of Show<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are reviewing the decision and considering all options at this time,\u201d a spokeswoman for Tong\u2019s office told the Daily Caller News Foundation.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/10519169\/dailycaller_incontent_2 --> <\/p>\n<p>Indie Guns did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the DCNF.<\/p>\n<p>The term \u201cghost guns\u201d is a euphemism that targets firearms made by people for their personal use \u2013 often involving the use of partially completed receivers or computer code for 3D printers.
