Bush \u2014 halting the project\u2019s non-security-related work, the case was taken up by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, which heard oral arguments June 5, 2026. <\/p>\n<p>The Court  Leon\u2019s order until a majority of a three-person panel of judges \u2014 both being appointees of former Presidents Barack Obama or Joe Biden \u2014 ruled against the project Aug. 7. Before their order was scheduled to take effect after 11:59 p.m. EDT Aug. 21, however, Trump promptly announced on Truth Social his plans to appeal to the Supreme Court, officially doing so Aug. 14. <strong>(RELATED: Federal Appeals Court Slams Brakes On Trump\u2019s White House Ballroom Construction Blitz)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" class=\"truthsocial-embed\" src=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/117055247374455490\/embed\" style=\"max-width: 100%; border: 0\" width=\"600\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Chief Justice John Roberts Jr., another Bush appointee, \u201cupon consideration of the application of counsel for the applicants, the response, and the reply filed thereto,\u201d stayed the preliminary April 16 injunction \u201cpending further order of [the chief justice] or of the Court,\u201d  to the Friday order.<\/p>\n<p>Whereas each of the justices is assigned supervisory jurisdiction over at least one of the 13 circuit courts across the United States, Roberts enjoys the legal authority to oversee emergency petitions filed in the D.C., Federal, and Fourth Circuit Courts. For significant applications, however, Roberts tends to loop in the full Supreme Court so the other justices can weigh in with their votes.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/10519169\/dailycaller_incontent_2 --> <\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Often relying on abbreviated filings rather than scheduled oral arguments, orders issued for the Supreme Court\u2019s emergency \u2014 or shadow \u2014 docket may be issued in as little as a few weeks and are often unsigned. Less brief <em>per curiam <\/em>opinions, however, represent the voice of the Court as a whole rather than those of individual justices.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are grateful for the Decision of the United States Supreme Court,\u201d Trump posted to Truth Social hours after the order was issued. \u201cThe Military\/Ballroom Complex being built on the hallowed grounds of the White House, which is so vital for National Security, will be THE GREATEST OF ITS KIND! John Sauer highlighted the White House\u2019s national security function in the Aug. 14 emergency  to the Supreme Court. Roberts subsequently set a deadline of noon on Aug. 18 for the plaintiff to respond.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis case involves an extraordinary and unlawful injunction that will halt the ongoing construction of the integrated military complex, including a totally secure ballroom space, at the East Wing of the White House, which is vitally required by national security,\u201d Sauer wrote.<\/p>\n<p>He went on to warn that, if the appellate court\u2019s block was permitted to take effect, it \u201cwould wrongfully install a single district judge as sole arbiter of what further construction is \u2018strictly necessary\u2019 to protect the safety of the President, his family, staff members, and visitors to the White House, including foreign dignitaries, and presidents and prime ministers of other countries.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/hometransferguide.com\/?p=4821\">Billy Bob Thornton Reveals Hollywood\u2019s Treatment Of Taylor Sheridan<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Trust accused the White House on Aug. 14 of trying to \u201coutrun the courts\u201d by accelerating construction work, pointing to the administration\u2019s plans to \u201cinstall 1 million pounds of rebar\u201d and \u201cpour another 3,000 cubic yards of concrete \u2026 since the injunction was affirmed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Likewise, the Trump administration\u2019s filing reported that ten months of \u201cconstruction has since proceeded in accordance with four months of administrative stays, with a 250-person crew working 20 hours a day, 7 days a week to keep the Project ahead of schedule and under budget [<em>sic<\/em>].\u201d Estimated to be \u201c65% complete in its entirety,\u201d the work \u201chas passed the point where major changes to [that] design are feasible,\u201d including portions reportedly reaching roughly 70 feet in height above five stories of below-grade work.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGiven those developments, the injunction promises chaos in service of nothing,\u201d Sauer added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Administration\u2019s transparent efforts to evade the rule of law, frustrate judicial review, and limit the availability of meaningful relief in the courts must stop here,\u201d the Trust said in response to the administration\u2019s emergency petition.<\/p>\n<p>Trump subsequently blasted the Trust plaintiffs as \u201cTREASONISTS\u201d in an Aug. 14 post to Truth Social quoting a portion of the petition challenging their standing and supposed injuries. He went on to characterize them Tuesday as a \u201cbunch of troublemakers\u201d and \u201cvery, very disloyal to our country,\u201d seemingly due to their lawsuit revealing details of the sensitive below-grade military infrastructure to the public, as well as foreign adversaries.<\/p>\n<p><iframe allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" class=\"truthsocial-embed\" src=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/117097114321052680\/embed\" style=\"max-width: 100%; border: 0\" width=\"600\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is absolutely no argument that a woman walking her dog in the vicinity of the White House has STANDING to stop such a desperately needed National Security structure for the people of the United States of America,\u201d he continued in part, \u201cespecially when she never saw the Building, because it had not risen, and she had no rendering, or pictures of the Building because they, also, were in the formative stages of production. This woman is not a \u2018walker,\u2019 she is an activist, or serial plaintiff.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is this kind of gross and flagrant abuse of our Courts that is exactly why Americans are losing faith in our System of Justice.
