Kevin Hart broke his silence on \u201cThe Roast Of Kevin Hart\u201d during the May 26 episode of \u201cThe Breakfast Club\u201d podcast.<\/p>\n

Hart addressed jokes made about George Floyd and the racial humor presented during the sets of other comedians by saying that he expected this type of content during the Netflix presentation. He then distanced himself from the situation by reminding fans that he didn\u2019t utter any of the comments that left fans divided.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy rebuttal is simplistic,\u201d Hart said.<\/p>\n

\u201cRemove me from it, I didn\u2019t say it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hart began by addressing a joke about George Floyd made by Tony Hinchcliffe.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, the George Floyd joke wasn\u2019t a tasteful joke to our [black] culture, to our [black] audience,\u201d Hart said.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut our audience that\u2019s watching the roast, if you\u2019re watching the roast, you get why they\u2019re doing it. You get why the racial humor is on the table.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued, \u201cIt\u2019s not, I wasn\u2019t shocked. That\u2019s what they do. Go look at the Tom Brady one. That\u2019s what they do. It happens every year when they do a roast. It\u2019s not new.\u201d<\/p>\n

Charlamagne tha God asked Hart if he felt Hinchcliffe took the joke too far, to which he replied, \u201cIt\u2019s Tony Hinchcliffe. Like I don\u2019t expect less, I don\u2019t expect more.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI hate to say this, but I\u2019m going to because we\u2019re being honest. People are talking about that joke. Talk about a set,\u201d Hart said.<\/p>\n

\u201cTony Hinchcliffe arguably had the best set, or one of the best sets. Would I tell those jokes? No. But do I get why they\u2019re being told? Yes.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hart made it clear that uncomfortable viewers could opt not to watch the roast, or to move on without conflict if one of Hinchcliffe\u2019s jokes didn\u2019t resonate with them.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t understand why we stand on a hill, and it becomes like this big thing of like, \u2018Oh, man, the motherfuckers, they do this, and they\u2019re attacking the culture.\u2019 It doesn\u2019t have to be that,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
