Tom Morello\u2019s \u201cPower to the People\u201d festival, slated for October, is charging hundreds of dollars for tickets and donating a portion of the funds to a group advocating against \u201cID barriers.\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u201cPower to the People\u201d festival is set for Oct. 3, 2026, at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland, according to its website. The festival is advertised as \u201ca day of peace, love, justice, and music\u201d and will feature the Foo Fighters, Dave Mathews and Jack Black, among others.<\/p>\n

A portion of the proceeds from the event will go to a non-profit group known as VoteRiders, the announcement stated.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Power To The People festival is about freedom, justice, equality and rock and roll,\u201d Tom Morello, the guitarist and founding member of Rage Against the Machine, said in the announcement. \u201cWe\u2019re honored to bring this incredible lineup to the DC area for a day that celebrates the spirit of activism, creativity, and hope,\u201d Morello added. He organized the event, according to the website.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The event\u2019s page on the Merriweather Post Pavilion\u2019s website described the event as \u201cnon-partisan.\u201d Morello previously stated in a 2025 X post that the band\u2019s music \u201ccritiqued a capitalist\/white supremacist power structure.\u201d<\/p>\n

Morello, in response to a fan\u2019s question, told Uncut Magazine that he believes socialism is a \u201cnecessity to save the planet,\u201d Guitar.com reported in 2020.<\/p>\n

The most expensive tickets, for the VIP Super Suite, cost $1,500.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u201cA portion of the proceeds from all ticket sales plus 100% of the net proceeds from VIP tickets will be donated to VoteRiders,\u201d according to the website.<\/p>\n

The festival defines VoteRiders as an organization working to \u201c[eliminate] confusing and restrictive ID-related barriers to the ballot box.\u201d VoteRiders\u2019 mission, according to their website, is \u201cto eliminate ID barriers to the ballot box so every eligible voter can cast a ballot that counts.\u201d<\/p>\n

Other ticket categories include the \u201cPeople\u2019s Park\u201d tickets and the \u201cPeople\u2019s Pavilion\u201d tickets. These tickets cost $125 and $225, respectively.<\/p>\n

VIP tickets include the $375 \u201cSolidary Circle,\u201d as well as the $1,500 \u201cRobinhood Package,\u201d which grants access to the \u201cVIP Super Suite.\u201d The website states that all proceeds from VIP sales will go towards \u201cnon-profit organizations fighting for human rights and social justice.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bruce Springsteen, who has been vocal in his opposition to President Donald Trump, is also one of the event\u2019s headliners.<\/p>\n

The event will also include the organization HeadCount, a group which focuses on registering voters at music and cultural events. HeadCount has worked with a variety of artists, including Green Day and Sabrina Carpenter, according to their website.<\/p>\n

The Power to the People\u2019s representatives at Grandstand Media and VoteRiders have not responded to the Daily Caller\u2019s request for comment as of publication.<\/p>\n
