Grand Ole Opry star Bill Cody is in critical condition and needs a double transplant to stay alive.<\/p>\n

His daughter, Hannah, issued a heartbreaking statement Sunday on Instagram, pleading for prayers from fans and loved ones.<\/p>\n

\u201cFriends. Prayer warriors. I believe in the power of prayer and my daddy needs prayers,\u201d she began.<\/p>\n

\u201cA little over 3 weeks ago he was admitted to the ICU in heart failure and kidney failure. After weeks of being on a roller coaster of emotions, tests, dialysis, medications, steps forward and steps backwards, it was determined earlier this week that his only option for survival would be a double transplant, heart and kidney.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hannah said her father underwent testing to ensure he was a qualified recipient for the transplant list, which was positive news for his family, but she said things quickly took a turn.<\/p>\n

\u201cLast night his heart strength and ability to pump blood took a downward spiral and we got a call from his doctor early this morning that they were having to intubate him to put him on ECMO (a machine that does the hearts job for him),\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n

Hannah provided a list of prayer requests to give her dad a fighting chance at survival.<\/p>\n

\u201c1) Pray that he will not experience any of the risks that come along with ECMO \u2014 stroke, blood clots, infection. 2) Pray that the next 48 hours on ECMO gives his body time to rest and gain strength. THIS is his biggest hurdle for transplant qualification right now,\u201d she wrote on social media.<\/p>\n

Hannah listed her final prayer request.<\/p>\n

\u201c[P]ray that the transplant team that meets on Tuesdays will find him a candidate for transplant and get him put on the list.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cody has been a country music broadcaster and DJ for years. He hosted the WSM morning show \u201cCoffee, Country & Cody\u201d for more than 30 years, and he was inducted into the Country Radio Hall of Fame and the Country Music Disc Jockey Hall of Fame.<\/p>\n
