Borba was once surrounded by celebrities and stars, but after years of rubbing elbows with Hollywood elites, he has chosen to serve the Lord. Now a deacon at St. Patrick’s Seminary in Menlo Park, Borba is living humbly, which is a stark difference from his previous lifestyle, according to ABC News.

“We ran around with the likes of, Paris Hilton, and partying with Kardashians and just doing up the Hollywood life,” Borba told ABC News.

“I was a poster boy for luxury living. I was not in any which way humble. I was very prideful.”

After giving his fortune to charity, Borba said, “I live in a little tiny room with… it’s sparse, nothing in it.”

“I have a few bits of clothes and a few pairs of shoes. And my life has been culled down to the bare minimum,” he said.

Borba is scheduled to be ordained May 23 in Visalia by the Diocese of Fresno.

He detailed that he first felt the tug to enter into a religious life at the age of 10, but resisted for decades.

Despite finding major success in his field and amassing a significant fortune, Borba said he was dissatisfied with his life.

“I asked our Lord to help me be the man that he created me to be,” he told the outlet.

“And upon that instance, I had this massive flood of love and mercy that came into my life. It was a very mystical experience.”

In a 2023 interview with OSV News, Borba recalled the moment he realized it was time for a change.

“I was at a party and I was very, very unhappy,” he said, according to The Catholic Spirit.

“I just felt like I was empty and I was empty. I was exhausted. I was burning the candle on both ends.”

He prayed for direction and guidance.

“I said, ‘God, if this is life, where all you do is work and party and do that all over again and die, then this is not the life that I think that you have made for me. But I can only change if you help me,” he said.

He started making lifestyle changes.

“God called me to give up everything, and I thought that meant just my cars,” he said, according to The Catholic Spirit.

“So I had an Aston Martin convertible, and I said, ‘All right, Lord, I’m gonna sell this car, give the money to charity, and then use some other money to get myself a truck.’”(RELATED: Ella Langley Praises Jesus After Sweeping The American Country Music Awards)

Borba said God called him to give everything up.

He told OSV that he answered the call to “Give it all up,” and he renewed focus on his new life devoted to faith.
