NFL Cornerback LeRoy Irvin Dies At 68, Ex-Teammate Says

Former Los Angeles Rams cornerback LeRoy Irvin, who spent ten years with the franchise and was a two-time Pro Bowl winner, has died at the age of 68, according to an ex-teammate.

Irvin’s friend and former teammate, Eric Dickerson, took to Instagram to share the news Thursday. The two played together for five seasons, according to the New York Post.

“Devastated to hear about the passing of my brother, teammate, and Rams legend LeRoy Irvin,” he wrote.

“Leroy wasn’t just a lockdown corner and a fierce competitor on the field; he was a true friend and a great man who always brought incredible energy,” Dickerson continued in the post. “Rest in peace, my brother.” (RELATED: NFL Football Legend Deion Sanders Says He’s Cancer Free)

“Sending my thoughts and prayers to the Irvin family and all of Rams Nation,” he wrote.

Dickerson did not go into details about his former teammate’s passing.
