Ukraine’s Security Service Says It Discovered Suspect Shot Dead In Monaco After Bombing
Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) said Tuesday it discovered Ukrainian Anastasiia Berezovska shot dead after her alleged involvement in a recent Monaco bombing attack on wealthy Ukrainian oligarch Vadym Yermolaiev.

SBU stated that an officer from Ukraine’s military intelligence agency admitted to the killing and confessed that a former law enforcement officer had assisted him, The Associated Press (AP) reported. The officer alleged he was acting on his own initiative and had not told his superiors of his plans, according to the statement.
Berezovska, 39, was wanted by Monégasque authorities for her alleged role in a June 29 attack reportedly aimed at Yermolaiev, a tycoon with connections to Russia, and his family, AP reported. Sources claimed that Yermolaiev, his partner and son were injured in the attack, according to Reuters.
An Interpol Red Notice named Berezovska the chief suspect for the crime and said she was wanted for attempted murder, criminal conspiracy, and putting an explosive in a public location with criminal intent.
Monaco, a luxury resort and tax haven for the wealthy, reeled after the attack. Prince Albert II, its ruler, labeled the bombing “an odious act” and stated that all public services had been mobilized for security, according to AP. (RELATED: Hegseth Reportedly Pulled Plug On Troop Cuts In Europe)
Monaco’s deputy prosecutor said earlier in June that the suspect fled the area on foot after the bombing, heading into France before taking a car to Germany by way of other European countries, Reuters reported.

SBU alleged that investigators uncovered transfers of cryptocurrency and money from the two men suspected of killing Berezovska to the woman herself. Authorities zeroed in on the two men and later discovered a basement that looked like a torture chamber at the home of the former law enforcement officer, according to the SBU’s description.
Authorities reportedly found Berezovska’s body with gunshot wounds to the head as they reconstructed the crime based on one suspect’s story. Officials also discovered used pistol casings, the SBU reported. Both men were held for suspected premeditated murder.
SBU reported that it had communicated all available details to Monaco’s authorities and would continue the investigation into those who perpetrated the attack in Monaco. Interpol told AP that it would not provide immediate comment and that it would keep the Red Notice on its webpage until Monaco requested its removal.
Yermolaiev attained Cypriot nationality in 2019 and came under Ukrainian sanctions in 2023 after reportedly doing business in Crimea, a hotly contested region that Russia took over in 2014, according to Reuters.
The Daily Caller reached out to the Monégasque government and the Security Service of Ukraine but did not receive comment in time for publication. Interpol advised the Daily Caller to reach out to Ukrainian authorities for more information.
