Officers from the Sayreville Police Department (SPD) responded to a home on Glynn Court around 8:00 p.m. and discovered the bodies of Christopher Iatauro, 52, and his wife, Kelly, 46, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, News 12 New Jersey reported. Kelly’s body was discovered inside the residence, while Christopher’s body was discovered in the backyard.
Both individuals suffered apparent gunshot wounds. Christopher is believed to be the shooter, and the incident is being investigated as an alleged murder-suicide, prosecutors said. (RELATED: A Father Drove Off A Cliff With His Family — He Walked Free)
The SPD instructed residents to avoid the area of Glynn Court between Deerfield Road and Scarlet Drive due to police activity in a July 3 Facebook post. The SPD later updated the same post, informing residents that the area had reopened and police remained at the scene. The area remained closed for 40 minutes, according to the Facebook post.
Christopher worked as a special agent for the DHS, according to NJ101.5, which cited DHS records from 2019 and 2020. It is unclear what prompted the alleged murder-suicide.

Kelly’s sister-in-law, Robyn Perlman-Spencer, confirmed her death in a July 7 Facebook post.
“As many of you may now know, my beautiful sister in law Kelly Iatauro was senselessly and suddenly taken from us on Friday. Kelly was a bright light- kind, thoughtful, hysterical, inappropriate, and just one of the most amazing people I’ve ever known. She left a lasting impression on anyone that was lucky enough to know her,” Robyn wrote in part.
A spokesperson for the SPD confirmed police responded to a residence on Glynn Court on July 3 and found both individuals deceased and with gunshot wounds. The same spokesperson indicated the incident was being investigated as murder-suicide, with Christopher as the suspected shooter.
The Daily Caller also contacted the DHS and the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, neither of whom immediately commented on the incident.
