Anti-ICE Woman Found Beaten To Death — Alleged Suspect Is ‘Asylum Seeker’ She Met At Pro-Palestine Rally
Jamey Carney, a 43-year-old mother from New Yorker living in Ireland, was murdered in her home late Monday or early Tuesday, and the alleged suspect is her Arab migrant boyfriend, who is now on the run.

Carney’s 13-year-old daughter found her mother hidden in her bed under a duvet on Tuesday morning in Killarney, County Kerry, Ireland, according to the Irish Sun. According to the New York Post, she had been beaten to death with multiple head injuries, and police were investigating reports that a loud argument had been heard in her house the previous night.
The suspect, police believe, took a 3 a.m. bus after the murder, boarded a flight in Dublin, and flew to Turkey. An anonymous source told the Irish Sun that the suspect had contacts in Turkey and may be seeking transportation onward to Jordan or Syria. The report notes that police are concerned he may be able to disappear entirely, since Turkey is “a place that is very easy to disappear from.”
According to the New York Post, the person of interest is 28-year-old Ahmad Alsaqer, an asylum seeker in Ireland, who moved there in 2024. Carney, who worked at a healthcare consulting firm and moved to Ireland in 2021, met Alsaqer at a pro-Palestinian protest about a year and a half ago. It is unclear as of publication what country Alsaqer originates from, though the surname is common in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Kuwait.
Carney appeared to be pro-Palestinian and anti-ICE, based on her Instagram profile, which reads, “Free Palestine 🇺🇸 in 🇮🇪 Fk 🧊.” The later emojis in her bio appear to mean “F*ck ICE” — referring to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Based on Carney’s social media posts, she and Alsaqer were in a relationship. She had posted multiple pictures and videos of the two together and mentioned his Arab language and background several times. She shared pictures and videos of them wearing the checkered keffiyeh, an Arab and pro-Palestine scarf, at a rally for Ireland.
Her last post was on the Fourth of July, when she shared a picture of her and her partner, both wearing Knicks shirts, set against an AI-generated Times Square background. “Happy 4th y’all 🗽🤭,” she posted.
Two weeks ago, she also posted a picture of herself and Alsaqar with a Palestinian flag in the background, captioned “Soon inshallah 💕 ☺️,” which means “Soon if Allah wills.”
