EXCLUSIVE: Dem Candidate Said Molesting Kids ‘Not Necessarily Rape,’ Brought Sex Offender To School

Democrat Texas candidate Bobby Pulido said molesting kids is “not necessarily rape,” after he brought a sex offender to a middle school, according to social media posts uncovered by the Daily Caller.

Pulido brought his longtime friend, convicted child sex offender Frankie Caballero, to perform at a benefit concert at a Texas middle school in 2016, according to an Axios report.

Unearthed posts on Twitter, now known as X, show Pulido explaining why he believed it was appropriate to bring Caballero to the benefit concert. (RELATED: Democrat Candidate Says He’s Not A Creepy Pervert, Just Mexican)

The posts were published in a series of tweets in August 2018, weeks after the event.

In one post, Pulido downplayed child molestation, writing, “Child molestation is abhorrent. But is not necessarily rape or murder, what you said. My point, and Geraldo’s point, is they have been unfairly demonized. It’s like if I said that whites shouldn’t be able to buy guns because most mass shooters are white.”

In a separate reply, Pulido added, “Those ‘stats’ you saw are public record. I just can’t believe they have not been openly publicized, so someone like me can see them.”

The report detailing Pulido brought Caballero to the middle school benefit concert followed earlier reporting that, despite previously claiming he did not know Caballero was a convicted sex offender, Pulido had publicly boasted that he bailed him out of jail, according to a New York Post report. Pulido also joked about Caballero’s criminal history during a November 2018 concert, according to a Fox News Digital report.

While introducing Caballero at the event, Pulido referred to him as a “bad man” before quipping that although Caballero was born in South Bend, Indiana, he did not attend Notre Dame but instead went to “Penn State.”

After Caballero stepped back, Pulido laughed and added, “No, no, I’m just kidding, don’t worry,” according to the Fox News report.

Pulido has also been linked to another convicted child sex offender, according to a Current Revolt report. (RELATED: ‘No More Excuses’: SCOTUS Birthright Ruling Ignites Conservative Push For Immigration Restriction)

Court records and promotional materials show Frankie Caballero Jr.—the son of Pulido’s longtime accordionist and band co-founder, Frankie Caballero Sr.—pleaded guilty in 2002 to sexually abusing a 14-year-old girl and remains listed on the Texas sex offender registry.

Caballero Jr., who performs as a Tejano singer, has repeatedly highlighted his relationship with Pulido in promotional biographies, stating in both 2019 and 2023 that he “grew up touring” with Bobby Pulido, according to the Current Revolt report.

Pulido will face off against Republican Texas Rep. Monica De La Cruz in the November 3rd general election, according to an ABC7 report.

Republican National Committee spokesman Zach Kraft responded to Pulido’s X posts, telling the Daily Caller, “Pervy Pulido is more concerned with how illegal immigrant pedophiles are viewed than the child victims of serious sex crimes. He is a deeply troubled shell of a man who lacks the morals, judgment, and basic human decency to represent south Texans in Congress.”

The Caller reached out to Pulido’s campaign for comment but did not receive a response in time for publication.
