Trump Reinstates Top Deportation Method One Day After DHS Suspended It: ‘We Are Playing Right Into The Criminal’s Hands’
President Donald Trump reinstated the top deportation method Wednesday after the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced it was suspending traffic stops Tuesday.

Federal immigration officers were told to stop traffic stops after a series of recent fatal shootings, the Daily Wire reported Tuesday. Trump ordered traffic stops to resume just one day later, saying “we CANNOT give up one of I.C.E.’s most important and effective Crime Fighting tools.”
The policy change came after Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) fatally shot a Colombian immigrant in Maine. This reignited controversy surrounding the shootings of Alex Pretti and Renee Good in Minnesota earlier in the year. Trump praised law enforcement and slammed former President Joe Biden for allowing illegals to “pour into our Country, unchecked and unvetted.”

Many were Criminals, and we have to get them out,” Trump said in a Truth Social post Wednesday.
“In order to do this, we must be strong, tough, and smart, and we CANNOT give up one of I.C.E.’s most important and effective Crime Fighting tools, THE TRAFFIC STOP!” Trump added. “Once we do, we are playing right into the criminal’s hands.”
DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin reportedly gave the order to halt traffic stops after two ICE-related shootings in one week.
