Trump Says He’ll Be Talking To China About Bombshell Election Meddling Documents
President Donald Trump said he would speak with China about recently unveiled election-meddling documents while taking questions from reporters in the Oval Office Tuesday.
Trump referenced documents declassified during a primetime address last Thursday, when he claimed the papers proved that China had meddled in the 2020 elections.
When Daily Caller White House Correspondent Reagan Reese asked whether the President would apply pressure or impose consequences, he promised that the government would address the issue.
“Well, we’re going to talk to them about it. It took place a long time ago. I think China is maybe a little bit different today than it was then,” Trump said.
“But look, they do things, and we do things to them, I’ll be honest, we do things to them too, it’s not a one-way-street, but we’ll be talking to them,” he added.
Trump argued last week that the unveiled documents indicate that China meddled in the race, compromising the voter files of 220 million Americans.
The President alleged China sought to turn the public against him in 2019 by paying journalists large sums of money to write negative articles about him.

Trump also accused China of trying to make illegal ballots for then-candidate Joe Biden during that election. The documents showed that “rogue bureaucrats” attempted to conceal evidence the FBI discovered that revealed Chinese interference, Trump said.
“Documents show that during this period, dozens of significant CIA and NSA reports about China’s election targeting were kept out of the presidential briefing. Trump claimed China had perpetrated “what is believed to be the largest compromise of election data in history.”
The president ordered the DOJ and FBI to investigate, fire, and seek charges against those involved and concluded his address by calling for Congress to pass the SAVE Act.
“[A]ddressing this crisis of election security demands that Congress must pass the SAVE America Act. How easy is that to do unless you want to cheat?” he asked.
