Politico’s Hill Reporter Once Asked Strangers To Cash App Him ‘Reparations’
A Politico reporter who covers Congress asked social media users to send him reparations through Cash App during the height of the Black Lives Matter movement, the Daily Caller learned.

Calen Razor posted his Cash App username in response to a call for reparations in June 2020, according to archived social media posts obtained by the Caller. Razor also interacted with anti-Trump and pro-BLM content online.
Razor was hired as a congressional reporter by Politico in 2025, after the posts were made, according to his LinkedIn. He previously reported for NOTUS and was an editorial intern at Hearst Magazines.
Razor is a registered Democrat in Connecticut and has since made his personal X account private.

The thread was prompted by the Los Angeles Times promoting an article written by Erika D. Smith titled, “No, white people. You can’t ease your guilt over racism by paying black people via Cash App.”
Razor has also liked or reposted content encouraging people to bail out BLM protesters in Bridgeport, Connecticut, his hometown. Another post with which the Politico reporter interacted with suggested that President Donald Trump was taking a racist stance toward the George Floyd protests, comparing the president’s reaction to BLM riots in Minnesota with his reaction to anti-lockdown protesters in Michigan. Razor told the Caller he was “not interested in commenting” on the matter when reached by phone.
