During an interview with Nick Fuentes and Hunter Biden uploaded Friday by YouTuber Andrew Callaghan, the 27-year-old conservative voice suggested that woke culture has had long-term benefits. “I don’t think everything about wokeism was bad. I think genuinely it has made people more respectful and empathetic,” Fuentes told Callaghan on his page “Channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan.”

“Wokeism had its excesses. Edge-lording also has its excesses … I think we’re at a middle point between saying the edgiest thing we can think of with no regard for anyone and saying ‘everything is racist … you should lose your job,” he said. An edge-lord is “someone who makes wildly dark and exaggerated statements (as on an internet forum) with the intent of shocking others,” according to Merriam-Webster.
“We’re finding a middle ground now where maybe it’s tasteful … tastefully offensive in small doses — less is more,” Fuentes said, which made Hunter chuckle.
“Let’s be honest, twenty years ago, say when I was growing up, I think there was a lot of cruelty and I think there were some hateful attitudes — and I think as time has gone on, the younger generation (and they may not even be left wing, they may not be what you’d consider woke) — I think they are respectful of people who have different ideas or a different way of life or from a different culture.”

“We make jokes all the time that I’m a far-right guy … or some kind of white supremacist and I’m a Mexican,” Fuentes joked.
Fuentes also garnered online attention when he outlined an array of choice words against those who think the Confederate States of America were on the right side of history during the American Civil War. “These HILLBILLIES killed a million White people so that they could keep black people in America! They’re the least based army OF ALL TIME!!!”
Fuentes has a large virtual following of people who tune into his online streams to hear him discuss political issues and current events.
Back in 2022, Fuentes had dinner with President Donald Trump and rapper Kanye West.
