Greetings, Dear Reader,

Something happened yesterday that was highly predictable.

Let’s get after it.

THE GREAT BETRAYAL

The door has barely closed behind me, and I can already hear my wife. The local news is on the television in the living room.

“I knew it. I didn’t want to guess because I didn’t want to be like you, but I kind of knew it.”

Kindness is in my wife’s DNA. She isn’t even slightly cynical. She works in charitable giving. We’re also both recent Catholic converts, so charity is more than just a vocation for her. She actively tries to see the best in people. I work in the media, on the other hand. I carry the bulk of the cynicism and skepticism (and aggression) in the family. Nowadays, I also carry the gun. To us, this all comes pretty naturally.

News broke Tuesday night that a woman had been fatally stabbed near Great Falls national park. By Wednesday, our suspicions had been confirmed.

“The killer was an illegal alien,” my wife said, even as I was still carrying my kids through the door.

Twelve years ago, when I first moved down here to run an ailing newspaper, this kind of stuff almost never happened. The most notable bad policy decision in the DMV was someone deciding metro trains should be carpeted.

Marvin Fernando Morales Ortez had his attempted murder charges dropped and was released into the public in Fairfax County, where I live and work. An APB was sent out the next day when he made good on his promise and allegedly murdered someone. If my wife’s place of work, the daycare my kids attend and my own place of work form a triangle, the murder occurred dead center. ICE had a retainer on the man but Democrat politicians and liberal prosecutors ignore those.

Months later, Steve Taehee Ha walked into a Gold’s Gym I go to every day, sometimes twice a day, and shot a man to death who was in the middle of doing pull ups. The man left behind an infant son and wife. Ha was found “not guilty” by reason of insanity. Weeks later news would break that officials helped accused murderer Abdulloi Toshpulodzoda get a passport and then gave him a day pass from the mental health facility, left to his own recognizance. Crazy enough, instead of killing more people, he simply left the country (ultimately avoiding punishment).

The victim in Great Falls was 42-year-old Carmen Lizet Puch. She leaves behind a 3-year-old daughter.

If this kind of thing is happening routinely in one of the most affluent counties in the country, imagine how frequently it’s happening elsewhere. My guess is we’re just not hearing about it.

For every one of these, there must be 100 more.

Besides the Great Betrayal itself, the next most stunning thing is just how quickly it occurred.

One generation ago, the country was united in a global fight against radical Islamic terrorism. I know because I was a part of it. I deployed to Iraq twice. I went to Afghanistan as a civilian. Comparatively speaking, that’s basically nothing. I know guys who went 6, 7, 8 times and who actually fought every day. It’s hard to imagine what they think of all this.

We were told we needed to fight that radicalism over there or else fight it over here. Now we hear the Call to Prayer in the suburbs. Radical Muslims routinely run for elected office here in the US and win. Worse, hordes of “educated” women who’ve had their brains liquified by a foreign short-form video app actually swoon over these foreign-born insurgents-turned-bonafide domestic political powerhouses.

Mamdani is mayor of NYC, Muslim and a communist. The most potent commentator on the left grew up in Turkey, is also a communist, and openly encourages acts of terrorism and assassination from his multimillion dollar studio in California. Abdul El-Sayed has pretty good chances of being elected to the US Senate. His mother worked for an organization the US State Department suspected of funding Osama Bin Laden. His father-in-law was a CAIR official, the same organization accused of funding Hamas. Sayed’s at-home library includes Sharia hardliners and outright jihadists.

Ilhan Omar’s then-privileged upbringing was cut short so her family could flee Ethiopia because her father was a high-ranking official in a genocidal army. She also allegedly married her brother to commit immigration fraud. Now she’s an elected official. Rashida Tlaib, whose parents were born in Ramallah in the West Bank, was last seen celebrating the primary win of Angie Nixon, a black radical communist in Florida. And we thought communism was over when the Soviet Union collapsed ~35 years ago.

And these are just the officials. All over America entire neighborhoods are changing seemingly overnight. There’s an entire suburban development in Texas that’s essentially Muslim only.

The universities have been completely taken as well, especially the elite universities.

In the microcosm, I can’t even drive to work without the overwhelming presence of foreigners and illegals. At the local gas station, I wait while a Salvadorian uses broken spanglish to argue with a South Asian using broken English over the cost of hot window pizza slices. Virtually every road work crew, every cleaning crew, every landscaping crew are entirely illegal aliens.

And I’m told if I don’t approve of this, I’m a bigot. At the very least, in a free society, I should look at the transformation of American streets into bizarre hindu festivals as merely benign.

Nothing to see here, Dear Reader, just some Vishnu worship.

Thank you, come again!

Our legal system in the meantime has been completely upended and abused. It’s easy to illegally enter the country and traffic actual human beings for a criminal cartel whose homebase is literally continents away, but deporting the perpetrators is impossible.

Sending Abrego-Garcia – the “Maryland Father” – back to El Salvador should be as easy as putting him on a plane.

It’s not, bigot.

And for some reason George Floyd overdosing on a cocktail of hard drugs (almost certainly foreign produced and smuggled across a porous border) means black youths get to riot and ruin old American pastimes without even a slight chance of facing justice.

The Wisconsin State Fair recently turned into a literal warzone of black youth assaulting each other and other innocent bystanders. The Houston Rodeo had to be cancelled because of another black riot.

None of this is okay. I have no problem saying it. I don’t want to hear the Muslim call to prayer in the suburbs. It’s grotesque. I don’t want entire American communities worshipping a six-armed demigod or whatever. I don’t want illegals stabbing women in parks, or groping kids in public schools.

Wanting my culture, Western culture, to not just prevail over the barbarians abroad, but dominate here at home is not even slightly bigoted.

I feel zero guilt for saying it.

My son is almost two, so too young to understand he’s been betrayed. His inheritance has been given away. Squandered. Promised to foreign hordes flying foreign flags, exploiting the calorie-free slogans of educated idiots. Diversity is not a strength. Not that long ago, The New York Times had no problem saying it.

That was 2007, just 19 years ago.

Since then suicidal fools draped in academic regalia dedicate their lives to perpetrating propaganda that will end with their progeny raped and their communities burned.

But it wins them points at dinner parties. Who am I kidding, these people don’t have kids anyway. Nobody does anymore. The percentage of 30-year-old American men who are married and own a home is cratering in large part because of economic and immigration policy meant to favor a concentrated few and their immigrant bloc.

But who is going to pick our strawberries? Is a question on the lips of modern Benedict Arnolds.

My son carries a last name that appeared at the Boston Tea Party and as a signatory of the US Constitution. It appeared above the bar where the Salem Witch Trials were first held. It’s appeared multiple times in every major war in American history. It’s appeared in major industries and newspaper mastheads. There are townships, municipalities and at least one road in Des Moines, Iowa, in his namesake.

That’s his heritage, and long before he’d developed an adult moral capacity, he was effectively locked out of his inheritance by the betrayal of myopic, powerhungry politicians eager to import and develop a literally un-American electorate. Their policies not only expose us to random acts of fatal violence from people who never should have been here in the first place, they also put the American dream out of reach.

He can’t even comprehend that opportunities will be closed to him based on his sex and skin color alone, but it probably will be still if we continue.

And the saddest thing is that none of it will end well. There will certainly be a fight, but even if we win, deporting 40 million people and building hundreds of prisons isn’t pretty.

Ultimately, however, that’s all that matters. Winning.

If there’s one thing my son will see in his father as he grows up, it’ll be the will to victory.
