Mia Terrazas told Page Six in a piece published Sunday that both instances unfolded during Panettiere’s relationship with Brian Hickerson. She claimed she saw “bright red spots” and “bruises” on Panettiere while the actress was whisked away by firefighters.
“It appeared that she had been beaten up,” Terrazas said.
“It wasn’t apparent to me that it could have been anything else,” she said, before adding that Panettiere often looked “battered,” according to Page Six.
The outlet reported that Terrazas’ daughter reported the same information to them.

Terrazas said the alleged incidents took place July 29, 2023, and January 16, 2024, and claimed she often heard “muffled arguments” coming from Panettiere’s home.
Panettiere’s mother, Lesley Vogel, raised concerns over her daughter’s involvement with Hickerson.
She shared she came to Los Angeles to help her daughter navigate a health issue, claiming Panettiere suffered unexplained feeling of pins-and-needles in her lower body that affected her ability to function normally, according to the The New York Times.

Vogel accused Hickerson of pawning some of her daughter’s vintage guitars, along with other belongings, and alleged he had more of her items in a storage unit.
Vogel told The New York Times that Panettiere hired Hickerson as her assistant, and tasked him with duties including around-the-clock support, caring for two dogs, and assistance with email correspondence.
She went on to say her disapproval of Hickerson’s continued involvement in her daughter’s life had become a sticking point in their relationship.

Panettiere released a memoir in May which detailed her volatile relationship with Hickerson. He faced an eight-count case in July 2020 including numerous felony counts of corporal injury, assault with a deadly weapon, and battery involving Panettiere, according to TMZ.
Hickerson was sentenced to 45 days in jail, and four years of probation. A five-year protection order was granted to Panettiere, and expired in April 2026. (RELATED: REPORT: DEA Probes Hayden Panettiere’s Death As Investigation Intensifies)
Terrazas told Page Six she saw Hickerson at Panettiere’s apartment complex during the active protection order, and called the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department “quite a few times” to report it.

Police and the DEA are currently investigating Panettiere’s death.
