The 50-year-old actor recalled the experience on “Pod Meets World” with co-hosts Danielle Fishel and Rider Strong.

“I woke up badly peeing blood,” he said.

“You just think you’re going to the bathroom and then you’re like, ‘Oh my God, something inside me is horribly broken,” he said on the podcast, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Friedle said his wife Susan Martens immediately noticed something was wrong when he exited the bathroom.

“She looks at me and she could tell she’s like, ‘You had no color in your face,’” Friedle recalled.

“I was like, ‘Well, because I just peed it all away… I need to go to the hospital.”

“For some reason on this day in that hospital, I was more famous than I’ve ever been in my life,” Friedle quipped.

“And one of the nurses comes up to me and does the ‘Feeny Call’” — the catchphrase his character used on the show to get Mr. Feeny’s attention.

A CT scan later revealed that the actor was suffering from a kidney stone. Doctors determined the actor could pass the stone naturally, without the requirement for a more invasive procedure, but cautioned that the process could be incredibly painful. Doctors prescribed opioids, but Friedle opted to proceed without the assistance of the medication.

“I’m going to do my best to not go anywhere near that stuff. Too many horror stories,” he said on the podcast, according to Entertainment Weekly.
